Hi. I just joined this forum today, though I'm a member of several others (including HG Pharoah). Hmmm, about me:
I'm 50, female, BD July 18, 1951 I'm a web designer, a single (and very proud) mother of an 18 year old model (she looks NOTHING like me!)
I played my first computer game (monopoly) around 1970. I had to sit in a little glass-fronted cubicle (the mainframe was in a sealed, refridgerated room on the other side of the glass.) I had to type my moves on a TTY, get my responses the same way. I supplied my own board and made the physical moves myself so I could keep track!
I also wrote my first program on punch cards to another mainframe.
Maybe that's why I love modern gaming so much. The interactivity and graphics are just so cool!
I still love board & card games & play a lot of Hoyle. I also am addicted to Pharoah, have played all the way through Zeus & Posiedon (but haven't bother re-playing any of those). I have C3, EE, and AOH but haven't really gotten heavily into them. After reading the posts here, I'm going to stop on my way home and buy StrongHold. My military strategy skill are not the best so you'll find me on the beginner help threads very soon.
Glad to meet you all.
Dina
