by Kester

In July 1212 Etienne, son of a French lord, ran away from home to join in the Children’s Crusade. Two of the ships, along with two of his friends, were lost at sea.
The other ships, meanwhile, were taken to the Algerian coast and the crusaders sold into slavery. Etienne and Tabor, the last remaining member of his group, were taken to Egypt as slaves. Finally, nearly ten years later, they escaped. Etienne and Tabor made their way back to France, but before taking the last leg of their journey home, they sought solace with the monks of the Donatien Abbey in the Davet Hills.
September 1222… In the simple lifestyle of the brothers Etienne and Tabor seek the healing of their tortured minds, that they may at last return home whole. But first, they have a few things to do…

Culture Wars (Invasion)
by docweasel

“You are a Clan Leader of a small woodland community, with a Stronghold and village protected by the highland passes of the North. You people live peacefully and reasonably prosperously only by hunting and gathering, since there is no arable land in your lands and your craftmanship and technical skills are limited.

Word comes from afar that the Pig has set up a settlement South of your Stronghold and intends to reinforce that Fort and outfit an army with Macemen and Crossbowmen, and then he will drive you and your people from the Valley. You have no chance facing him as you are, simple hunters and woodsmen.

However, your advisors devise a plan: if you can capture the Pig’s settlement and his Craftsmen and their Guilds, you can outfit your own army. Once you are well established and safely ensconsed in his Fort he may abandon the invasion and leave you and your followers in peace, to enjoy a much improved life, thanks to the mastery of farming, animal husbandry and advanced weaponry you will acquire if you are successful.

The Pig controls the Mountain Pass and the River Bridges, but you and your woodsmen know all the highways and byways and may be able to ambush them. Or, you might bypass them and once you have taken the Fort they will become loyal to your cause. Bon Chance.”

Dark Sun Hills (Invasion)
by Nekoenma

“Thou art still young, man. Few things happened here where thou livest now until few time ago. Thou shouldst know the history behind our village. No? Well then, so I, Brother Nelsus will have a cheer delight on teaching you.

When the civilizations first appeared on the world our existence the universe had. Away from those great human communities we built a small village, only ours. Many years have passed and our village didn’t change, for it was isolated from the rest of the world. On theese years, however, those civilizations grew and developed many things that we didn’t even suspect they existed.

One day a traveler with an iron body arrived at our village. We were on doubt if it was a god or a deamon. Soon we realised it was neither, so we welcomed him. However he had an evil mind so he ruthlessly obtained the control of the village. He enslaved us and we were tortured if we didn’t work, dark times those, right? By that time thou were born.

But as thou already knowest death arrives to us all, and out evil leader wasn’t outside this law, so eventually he died. We were now free from him and his torturing works and devices. We, the elders of the village decided that you are going to be the one that will control our village now.

Get rid of our dark past and make this village prosper. We need to reinforce ourselves, for that traveler was only the start. I believe many outsiders with a evil mind will come. We have to fight, yes, of course, but that’s the price we’ll have to pay if we don’t want to be conquered once again.”

by Zebas

A castle has always stood in the valley of Helms Deep. But castles have not always been made of stone. Before stone castles, there was wood. Before Sauron, there was Morgoth. Based upon the history of Middle Earth, Old Helms deep tells the (fictional) story of Morgoths desire to kill the elves, and how it led him to the fortress of Helms Deep. This wooden fort will have to stand up to tremendous punishment. Morgoth is no pushover. More evil than Sauron and with more power expect a long hard siege. The castle has been designed to be as functional as possible while providing the maximum defence. Allies keep arriving, but will they be enough to turn the tide against these impossible odds. Sauron marches on Helms Deep commanding the bulk of Morgoths army. Horns can be heard in the distance…War is upon us!
