They attacked without warning, drove us from our land and homes. Our last hope was to flee and regroup at the old fortress up in the mountains.
The mountain fortress has not been used in ages and is now only a crumbled old ruin. Perhaps we can salvage some of the stone to be used as building materials for some new defences?
The enemy are attacking soon so we must hurry with our preparations! Some reinforcements from the King are on their way, but are held up by ambushing bandits at the mountain pass. We need to clear it so that the Kings men can get through!
As if all this isn't enough this is probably the hottest summer anyone can remember, making everything dry as tinder. So watch out for fires!
Playability: 5
Definately very playable, I manage to win the game fairly easily with only about 20 archers. and a few other units.
Balance: 5
This map is fairly balance, resources are plentiful and fairly close to the castle. In the way of invasions, they were big enough to be a challenge without being overwhelming.
Creativity: 3.5
Although maps like this has been done before in Stronghold 2. The map had definately some more creative aspects especially with the ruins and the placement of the bandits.
Map Design: 3.5
The map design was well built, everything made sense in placement, but not the most creative map I have seen.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
The story is short, sweet, and to the point, but doesn't have a lot of details.
Additional Comments:
Overall I give this map a 4. It a good starting map for new players.
