Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Difficulty: Normal
In a Southern part of the Nation of Rule-Adoo, lives a king that for many years was very unliked. In the days of pay back, and evil mob rulers, the king from Rule-Abboo, do not want anything to do with you and your presents, because of all the problems you have caused to his Lordship from the East. You was inform of an attack being plan on you by your spys from the Eastern Lands that trouble is coming your way, but you are not ready to defend your castle from waves of troops landing on your land, so you have to build up your defences very quickly, to prepare for that onslot. Tip: {you have to build your army up from scratch, to prepare for war, so it's up to you to choose what types of troops you want to defend your castle with, but be careful, you only have lite gaurds right now.... so choose wisely, King Spool of Rule-Abboo can come at you at anytime.}

Playability (3). This scenario dragged a bit because the infrequent animal, bandit and troop attacks didn't do enough to disturb my sense of security.

Balance (3). It was obvious from quite early on that I would achieve victory at the first attempt. The author assesses this as 'normal' difficulty, but I would put it down as 'easy'. The attack and scenario irritants were too half-hearted to cause any real problems. The castle layout itself was a complete muddle, but a cleverly designed one, causing maximum inconvenience to your peasants. The final series of battles nearly lived up to expectations, but the last attackers just loitered at the assembly signpost until I put them out of their misery.

Creativity (3). This is a decent enough scenario and it's obvious that a lot of time and effort has been expended. The problem is that the designer has been too nice and considerate to the rest of us. I would have appreciated a bit more full-frontal angst.

Map Design (5). There's no doubt it's a lovely map, full of sand, sea and sunshine. The resources are all there, some rather more abundant than others. The castle design has a mazy beauty of its own.

Story/Instructions (3). The grammar could do with some tidying up, but the instructions are clear enough.

Conclusion. This scenario promised rather more than it eventually delivered for me, but there's no doubting the designer's talent. He or she just needs to be rather more nasty with it. I feel that this map could have been ideally suited to an Economics Scenario; all the ingredients are in place and would just require some stirring objectives. As an Invasion, however, this one didn't quite come off for me, but I still appreciated the opportunity of trying it out.
