The events that have spiraled out of control and led to the current situation are as follows:
The King enacts the Royal tax on iron. Despite vigorous protest from various principalities, the tax goes into effect at midnight on the 27th.
The spring tax collections are due. The gold caravan from Wynn Avegen does not arrive.
The Kings Vassal is sent to Wynn Avegen to collect the unpaid taxes. Upon his inquiry the Vassal is tarred, feathered and sent back to the King as the citys answer.
Wynn Avegen declares its independence and renames itself the Free City of Avegen.
After exhaustive and failed negotiations, the King declares the City of Wynn Avegen guilty of Treason and orders it to be retaken by force.
The 7th Royal Division is chosen for the attack and marches towards Wynn Avegen.
The garrison raises beach obstacles and strengthens the citys defenses. Preparing for the siege.
The 7th is in position for the Assault....
Authors Notes: This map is designed as an attacking siege only. The intended level of challenge is normal or higher and with the troops given. I had the idea of urban combat in mind and your movement through the paved streets and walkways of Wynn Avegen will be limited. The terrain has been modified to give permanent access to the Keep. You do not have to worry about destroying stairs, etc. Enjoy!
Wynn Avegen is Chapter 1 in the Saga Of the Seventh.

Playability : 4
This was an very fun map to play (and look at). However I found the limited and narrow one way axis of advancement as a deterrent for replayability since there is no real way to play this map in more than one way other than deciding how to assault the first gatehouse...A great experience nonethless.
Balance : 5
The balance is great...the default starting units are well thought out, however using custom settings can spoil the delicate balance since (as mentioned before) there is only one real way to play it. Still, very good.
Creativity : 5
Here is where UnikUnok shines... he has created a map which would take anybody by surprise when they see it he first time... An extremly well written story completly immerses one into the gameplay... an absolte gem of a map. Great work.
Map Design :The map design is very very good. The amount of hard work that has gone into this map is evident and it has payed off, creating a map more worthy of the eyecandy section !! Amazing work.
Story/Instructions : The story is well written and reads very well as with all of UnikUnok's maps. Very original work here and really helps sets the mood...one of the few maps where the story is a crucial part of the map rather than just a formality.
Overall : UnikUnok has attempted to create a fantasy world of his own and set his map in it, and I must say he has been highly succesful.
Keep it coming.

It was an amazing ride from start to finish. I just went straight for the Lord, and could have captured each part of the castle to stroke out some playability. Very satisfactory win.
I beat it on my first play-through, albeit with difficulty. Near perfect.
Very creative and almost surreal city. It almost feels like you're underwater.
Map Design: 5
The map is amazing, with eyecandy spattered everywhere all keeping with the theme of a large city. You fight your way through the city and can hardly wait to see what's ahead (I couldn't).
Story throws you into the action and puts you in charge. UnikUnok creates his own world, and it's a captivating place.
The balance is very close to perfect. I'm admittedly not very good at Stronghold but I was able to beat it on my first real try (i.e. when I wasn't seduced away from the war by the beautiful city).
