'And it came to pass that the armies of Christendom reached the borders of the fertile plains. Ahead lay the Great Seljuk Empire, and the unknown lands therein. Orders were given to construct the mightiest of Crusader castles along these borders, to withstand the full-onslaught of what would certainly follow. Yet this will be one of the hardest challenges to your strategically astute mind and military experience. There will be no easy victory here, as the 'enemies of God' shall sweep down from the hills at every opportunity to storm your defences. Be prepared...'
Author's Notes
I have tried to recreate a realistic looking landscape with Cristendom, in keeping with my other skirmish maps. Stone and iron are present, but they are limited in supply. There should be sufficient outcrops of each to see you through. The two keeps on the higher plains are at a disadvantage, in that access to fertile oasis land will be tricky. The keeps on the lower plains are placed to defend the arable land.
Ideally, you will play 1v4, placing your keep in the middle of the three sites on the lower plain. However, how you choose to play is entirely up to you! The map also lends itself to 2v3, if you team up with an AI lord of your choosing.
I noticed initially that the AI keeps seem to struggle to recognise where the stone and iron deposits are, probably due to their sparse nature. I have added a few additional outcrops of both in more accessible areas.
A review of this, and my other skirmish maps, would be most welcome.
