I have had this map on my Pc for a while and I never got round to playing it.
But when I did today, it was a really good; some great points made it a very hard mission (damn them evil wolves!!!)
Playability = This is a mission where you have to think, it isn’t just a build and defend map. You have to manage you limited resources effectively, and that’s where the challenge is. There are plenty of invasions to keep you on your toes and they can sometimes seriously threaten your lord!
Balance = The attack and the wolves at the start of the mission make for a difficult few minutes, as you food chain is destroyed and you face certain famine. Overall a very good balanced map.
Creativity = A very unique map, I really like the idea of the broken stonewalls, very nice to make them by the enemy so you cannon use them. Almost true to the Dark Ages of many European countries, when the peasants shunned the old roman settlements and didn’t inhabit them as they thought they were haunted with evil spirits.
Map Design = A very nice, but limited space made some things difficult, to do especially when trying to build defences.
Story= The background to this scenario is great and makes for a good play. It is almost true to life in the Dark Ages.
Overall = A very difficult scenario, not for novices as this takes some thought to pull off a victory. This is a must for anyone’s Invasion section.
