\"Halls of God\" is the third chapter of a 5-mission campaign telling the story of Caer Dalan, a land of lakes and rivers, at the border of the Kingdom of Westerland.
Westerland, 1121 AD. Reign of the King Roland I.
The Civil War, known as the Game of Houses, ended on 4th March 1102 with the victory of the Lord Roland Price. He took control over the entire Kingdom and forced the Lords of the enemy Great Houses to surrender and swear their loyalty. Those few who refused have been bannished. The Lord Hector Morgan took what remained of his army and with the few still loyal vassals and his 2-years old son, left Westerland, vanishing into the Eastern Territories.
One of the first orders of the new king was the construction of a new military castle at Caer Dalan. Kingsguard has been risen outside of the Wall; a stronghold that had to provide more protection to the eastern border. A couple of years later a smaller fort, Hand, has been constructed on the opposite side of the Great Waterfall as a scout post and shelter for rangers.
On 1119 the Anghars came back. The rumours of their arrival reached Westerland months earlier along with panic and terror. Masses of refugees came to Westerland, looking for protection and asylum. The proud King Roland, with the help of the Church, called then upon the faithfull, asking them to join a crusade against the enemy.
In many had answered, even if few of them were Lords of the Great Houses. Unwilling to leave in the Kingdom any Lord that during the civil war fought on the enemy side, the King ordered that each Great House had to take part in the expedition. Except the always-neutral Kallahans.
They left on 1st October 1119, led by the King, proceeding towards the incoming Anghars army.
With the crusade begun also the inquisition. The inquisitors have spread throughout the Kingdom, pyres have been risen and those who were suspected of heresy have been given to the flames. Not even the foreign pilgrims and refugees have been spared, persecuted and put to death on the squares of the cities, along with thieves, murderers, whores and heretics. Many new cathedrals and churches have been risen to show the divine majesty to the faithful and collect money to pay for the supplies the Crusaders needed.
Also the Archbishop Andrew of Caer Dalan requested the construction of a cathedral that would gather the faithful inside its halls and welcome the pilgrims on their way back from the Holy Land. On December 1120, the King requested more money in order to strenghten the economy, due to the fact that the Crusade revealed to be much longer and harder than he initially expected.
And while the Lord Peter Kallahan was raising the taxes at Caer Dalan, the banned lord Hector Morgan reappeared and during just a single night conquered by stealth and treachery Kingsguard, blocking the way to the Holy Land.
Unwilling to let the other Lords know of such a crisis, the Lord Kallahan decided to retake the stronghold from the hands of the bandit Morgan before the news would spread throughout the Kingdom.
And hopefully, before the King's return.

- Events are random and depend on your behavior and your economic situation.
- The Lord Morgan counts on a great number of mercenaries. He wouldn't take Kingsguard if he wasn't sure he could keep it.
