The King commands you to select a small force and move to the ruined stronghold in the Eastern Wastelands. Fortify the defences and build up your troop strength to defend the eastern border of the kingdom against an attack by the Wolf expected in 1078.
The land is desolate and resupply unlikely. Take with you the materials you will need for the task and use them wisely.

My first upload (Valley of Hot Springs - Invasion #619) was set in a fertile valley where the task was to prosper in the land. This scenario is set in a desert and the challenge is to make due with the resources you have brought with you. (e.g. Want to make some more fletchers to acquire crossbows faster? Fine, but then will there be enough wood left to make crossbows?).
This is my second upload. I would greatly appreciate feedback on my creations.
I enjoyed myself on this map even though I thought that I might not when I read the story/instructions. First I stayed away from it and then I was interested in what you meant when you said 'take materials with you....' It turned out to be a good map to play and the treeless landscape really added a feeling of desolation and desperation. It felt at times like the people living there were ready to go home to more comfortable surroundings, but they had to stay to protect the kingdom. It was mentioned that enemy troops would be around about 1078 and this caught me off guard because I concentrated on that date the first time and...oh well. That's what the restart is for. This game gave me some surprises and made me think about which supplies I should use where and how much. I liked the feel of the map in general. While it was not totally wonderful to look at; it did give the proper effect for the game's mood which is why I scored it as high as I did in map design. For the creativity side, I thought it was not overly special with objectives and things to do, but the general mood of the game and how to pull it off well was worth the higher score for me personally. The story was alright, but there wasn't enough of it to really pull it all together. I'll have to look in on your other maps when I get a chance.

This map was a very creative idea but was not too well executed. I know that this was one of your earliest maps and that you could do much better now but even so there was too much waiting and sowly recruiting men. The invasions when thay came were very easy - I had so many war dogs (extra cash) they killed most of the enemy! think there should have been some wood and stone on the map, limited amounts but it would have kept you busy for the whole duration of the map. I used up all my stone and over half of my wood and then sat ther waiting for weapons to be made. I had four fletchers building crossbows and 4 bakeries (enough for extra rations in fact and therefore average taxes) I also had a blacksith who in the whole game made 24 maces (not bad at all!) The invasions were pretty easy (war dogs and all the crossbowmen I had). I thought that the map deign was quite poor actualy - yes it looked like a wasteland but it could have been more rugged, flowing and realistic (I am sure you that you could in fact do this now). It was a very creative idea tough and it has even tempted me to make a 'wastelands' of our own si I do applaud you for the idea. There is a bit of storyline, bout average so a 3 here again. Overall quite a fun map (good in the way you have to plan with every single piece of wood and stone. Worth a play!
