Mission 1: Arrival
Human Lord (4,000 gold) v Sultan Abdul (2,000 gold)
The first mission on the Crusader trail is a relatively easy introduction to what will follow. Facing the Sultan Abdul should not pose you any real problems, and a good start here will allow you to progress further and gain a respectable final completion date.
This map will happily allow you to use rush tactics if you want. By buying swords and metal armour and recruiting swordsmen you can quite easily win before the Sultan really gets started. However, all of these walkthroughs will use normal 'build and attack' tactics.
I started by placing my granary close to the keep and three woodcutters huts to the south-east of my base. I immediately placed two apple orchards, then extended the stockpile by two squares, built a marketplace and armoury. A medium sized square tower and barracks were also placed early on, trying to keep the buildings relatively close together. As the woodcutters begin to stockpile the wood, place another hovel, a tanners workshop, blacksmiths workshop and fletchers workshop. A dairy farm was also placed to allow leather armour to be manufactured. Teo iron mines were built and protected from any possible early attacks by the starting spearmen and archers.
The idea with my attacking options was to skirt around the walls of the Sultan's castle with a band of some 10-15 archers, picking off military and civilian units alike. Macemen are all you really require here to form your attacking force, and I didn't bother with building castle walls of my own, as there's really no point. You'll be on the offensive pretty much from the start, and the Sultan won't get much of a chance to attack you.
With my economy ticking over nicely, the final attack was made with no more than 20 macemen. I used my archers to take out the firethrower first, as these units can really do some damage to an attacking force. The Sultan uses slingers and Arab swordsmen as his main force, and I found I could take advantage of the slingers' weak range of attack and take them out from a distance without being shot at. |

Hey coconut man 111 if you are having a problem with fire throwers and slingers could i suggest that you use crossbowmen? The best thing about archers vs. slingers and such is that you can put your men far out of the enemy's range without even
getting touched. |

I just hired as many assasins as possible and killed him right away, haha. I didnt get a very high score, but on the records it says I beat him in 0:03 minutes |

First off I cut off the sultans iron and stone production from the north by placing all my starting troops there. Then I cut off one direction of attack from the sultan (I chose the west) and placed some new troops to guard the other direction since the AIs are too stupid to go through walls. Then I Started stone production for gold production and bought stone for a barracks. Aswell as a few fletchers and poleturners.
After these few steps, the level was easy. I built up about 100 archers and 100 spearmen. I built up my army to the south. Then I sent all my archers to clear the walls and kill all the sultans troops. Then, since the sultan had no defence, I attacked with all my spearmen. |

This mission is not hard. i beat it in less than 5 minutes. build 4 stockpile spaces a granary an armory a barracks and a marketplace. sell everything you have besides food. buy 20 maces and 20 leather suits. attack. sultan shouldn't even have walls built by the time you get to him. |

First off, I do not reccomend what I am about to say if you are new at the game, as you dont learn anything about skirmish trails.
1. Build granary and 2 hovels and mercernary post.
2. Use the first peasants to buy 5-10 horse archers
3. When you have 24 peasants, get 24 assasins.
4. Use horses to get rid of fire throwers
5. Get assasins to kill him.
This works on alot of lords, but NOT if it is a crusader game (little gold, much troops).
It also doesnt work on pig because he has macemen, which demolish assasins.
Assasins kill soldiers, soldiers kill macemen, macemen kill assasins. |

Just make 2 hovels, 1 granery, barraks and armory. Sell all goods exept food and buy 25 maces and 25 leather armor. Get 25 maceman and kill the sultan within 2 mins. Easy as a pie! |
