This invasion may be very similar to that of the storyline within the campaign, following the domination of the four lords. Your father has told you to go and rebuild/repair the long forgotten refuge long left for ruin by your family. You must survive at all costs, for yourself, your father, the McLugors and the king!
The storyline is relatively simple, however I feel that it is the challenge of limited methods of defence and isolation that really sets this map up a notch. Although it might seem simple to begin with, you must think smart, for there will be rather... large surprises, rather quickly.
The map is based on a castle situated in Bornholm (Denmark), which essentially gouged its moat from the sea it stood against. Since the landscape around it was some of the most wondrous I've seen to surround such a castle, no less exception on effort upon it was made here. I was planning to make this a series, but time took its toll and it's only a single. I hope people like it, it might not be brilliant to any effect, but I think it's a splendid achievement! For my first map at least! :D
Nice Comments on your map submission, I thought it made a nice adition to your Scenario. This map was great fun to play. The invasions are more irritating than a strong challenge, but that doesn't detract from the overall playability and balance. I liked the island and surrounding area. Not the most original design. But being based on an actual location and the attention to detail of the landscaping make this a very great play.
Try it out, it is a good play for any skill of player!

I sat down in front of my computer this evening for a long entertaining invasion. That is exactly what I got. This is a good map, definite improvement on Carephilly. If improvement like this continues i can imagine we shall see great things from you. Very playable and well balanced. I would rather like though the introduction of boiling oil, pitch or traps to make it more interesting. I was tittering on giving playability a 4 for that but then I thought I really enjoyed playing that map and for that means a five. The whole isolated island feel is very good and makes for a good defensive position. The marketplace is banned. I think this is a shame - you could have had teh marketplace but with most things blcked out like weapons. Having no marketplace does make it hard to react to emegencies. Th map design is good - slighty ordianry in places but the island is nicely designed. Creative too. Although there is little story there is some on site information and the nice addition of a mini map. Overall good work and I will be loking forward to future maps. I feel this map has earnt a deserved place on the best of stronghold and I am quite happy to put it there. Good Work!

I found this map to be fun and interesting. I liked the map design, a good mix of resources and a lack of land for growing wheat and hops. This made it more difficult to manage the food stocks in the early years. I would have liked to have had more difficult invasions, as you are able to put up towers and eliminate the gatehouse altogether since everything you need is on the island. Maybe having the stone and/or iron on the main land would force the player to keep a gatehouse, this allowing the enemy easier access to the keep. I would have also liked to see some engineers earlier in the mission as well. The scenarios employs some very nice elements, but I would like to see the invasions be more difficult.
