This map is designed to provide a tough challenge for seasoned campaigners. It is also loosely designed on the walls of Berwick upon Tweed (which is a lovely, completely walled town in the North of England, where I live - it really is worth seeing).
I hope you will enjoy the seige, do remember to use all the resources at your disposal, and have a lovely time.
Playability 5: I'm not sure how the designer has done it, but it 'feels' really playable and fun. I'm certainly going to play through again a fair few more tries (perhaps on Very Hard ;) ) and I just really enjoyed playing this. There are several different ways of apporaching the seige even just using the starting troops-and even more if you decide to choose your own force to use.
Balance 4: I found this fairly easy as an attacker, as I managed to win first time on normal. However I have played many seiges and I'd like to think I was fairly good at them by now. ;) As far as seiges go this was quite hard and certainly provides a challenge on the higher difficulty settings. I'm tempted to perhaps give this a 3, because the defending force doesn't have many archers-it can be a little too easy to attack with little casulties because of this.
Creativity 4: I found this to be a nice, refreshing seige to play, with an interesting castle to take on. Quite different to the average seige map!
Map design 3: Whilest it is a nice castle to seige and an attractive series of hills are present under the first wall, a lot of the map is a bit blank and empty. It would perhaps use a little more 'things' around-perhaps a river or a rocky outcrop or something, to fill in some of that grassland. This is just my opinion, though, and I found it to still be a nice map.
Story 4: an interesting story that drew me into the senario and cuahgt my interest. A nice finishing touch to a nice map. I'd definately recommend it! Give it a go!
