This is the fourth scenario in my "The Fall of Krakindale" series. In this scenario, you must lay siege to Sir Crantev's castle and kill him, taking the fortress for yourself. Then, you must bless your peasants to prevent Lord Krakindale's curses and spells from working on them. Expect this to be a tough scenario as Lord Krakindale will curse you and Duke Turtamot will attack you in attempts to undermine your efforts. Full storyline and instructions inside.
This is by far my fravorite map in the Krakindale series so far. It is really impressive. It was immensly playable. There was always something going on - either you would be trying to stop them from getting their siege towers to the walls or you would be coping with fires and plagues (sometimes at the same time!) The map was an incredible playable map indeed! well done here! As for balance, it was a little too hard for me. In a cede, I think that the attack of the castle should never be too hard. I eventually made it after about 7-8 tries, and I feel that players of my level and below might not have had the patience to play the rest of the map - which is such a shame as it is such a beauty! This map was so exhausting! Because of all the fires, plagues etc. I fell below 50 on a number of occasions and sometimes below 20 (I was once advised to stay inside and hide ;-) ). This meant that you often missed out on the satisfaction of recruiting troops and covering your walls with them. You might want to try to create a 'quite time' in the middle - a time to build up after challenging invasions. The initial invasions were fairly easy, but the wolfs one was devastating. In fact, I havn't completed the last invasions from the rat and wolf - I just could not handle the economy well enough. For creativity, the map was not very creative - admittedly it is a cede (I love cedes), so there is not a terrible amount you can do here. The map design was greatly improved - well done! and the story/instructions were in the same good clear style.

I'd like to accent that the author slipped in alot of creativity.
The hunters around the granary in the outer ward fight the few shooters that invade. There is moat by two players so that certain spots cannot be filled in before the cede. Some seldom used siege devices occur: shields, war dogs and a siege tower. A custom victory message.
Many bad events are meant to bring down the initial setup. These are scripted by time. Others happen by conditions.
So, the second phase (the first invasions) is about defending. A rudimentary eco is best to keep popularity up and get some new units trained.
Later, I found it exciting to send out woodcutters and apple farmers to bring in a round of goods before the next invasion would descend in the castle.
And this is one of the rare missions wbere the main request, blessing the people, has a funtional role: you have to expand outside the walls. At least the cathedral will not fit in the initial rectangle.
