The Olean Valley,sounds like a nice place to tip a few,eh?
Well the King thinks so!You've been sent here to carry on
the village traditions of Eating,Drinking and being quite
Merry.See if you can do as well as the last Governor,and aid the King
at the same time!Good Luck to You!
Note;This map can be played from easy to very hard.I'd suggest
Normal first.

In my opinion this map is just unplayable. From the very beginning you are struggling becasue of plague, fire, bears, and pestilance. Not much fun. Plus on normal you have to get about 475 bread in a short period of time. No one this rating is impossible.

Not only are the bears destroying all your workers, but you can't build any castle buildings to get archers to defend yourself.

If you are going to attempt this map, plan on building a well between every two buildings and farms.

The map design is ok, but the keep is in a small corner, without much space to build any buildings. You will be forced to build in the midst of the bears.

This wasn't as bad as it would seem... once you get the "ah ha!" you're on your way. Look at all those animals. Hunters would be good, and they tend to kill other things (like bears) too.

So, pretty standard econ buildout based on bread & beer, with no weapons at all and no hassles w/ bandits. And yes, if there is fire you will need about 20% of your pop doing well duty.
peter2008 The title sounds very pleasing. Indeed, the small land is frutile.
Thus there are many animals that regard it as their territory, too. As foulgrin has hinted to, hunters will help to clear the way. Wood cutters also fight quite well. And 1 archer, 1 monk and the Lord will land a hand.
The map plays almost comfortable. As you reach the point when you wonder where to put all the buildings to employ the people requested, remember a small building, round and full of water. Only without it in good numbers, the mission becomes "impossible" because the time limit may strike.
Otherwise, the end comforms to the nice title.

Especially I liked that gold is only a measure here to place wells and chapels, one time not a target to work for. "Ruthless" works in a similar way.
