V2 The Map has been fixed at the gate house. All is still the same. In progress of fixing the woods.


In the first movie after Gandalf fell, the fellowship left the mines of Moria and headed towards Lothlorien. On their way there they met up with Hardir the captain and leader of a small company of elves which though they were foes. In this map the very same thing happens. The fellowship are right outside of Moria mourning for the loss of their companion, Legolas and Sam are the last to come out.(archers 1 and monk1 for sam and legolas) then after you get moving towards the lands of Lothlorien, you are cuaght up by Hardir with his band of Elves "the dwarf breathes so loud we could of shot him in the dark" now together you must make your way towards the woods which are not far from your location. Remember the enemy are right behind you. After you make it to Lothlorien the city it self and the woods. The enemy will begin to attack. The siege is hard since you only got a few archers and the fellowship. But there are reinforcements which you need to find in the city. The walls are made of threes and they will not hold out for long, therefore take the enemy out before they reach the wall. There are 2 parties of archers outside. Use them wisely as they will come in handy. You can either set up and do as much damage as possible or move back and hold out. There is a catch. If more than 150 Elves die you lose. If Celeborn is killed you also lose. Ive included such details in the map such as the mirror in which Frodo sees his future, and the Exit from Moria. I also liked the fact that the main Orc force makes its way from the Mines themselves through the exit!! Lastly Review this map as it can always be improved. Have fun and enjoy.-Map best played on Hard and Vhard for advance players...Novice players use normal.

NAT This is another good map from Figster and this one definetly delivers. The map is creative and there is a real LOTR feel to it. Very playable - you have a small amount of time to prepare Lothlorien - recruiting troops mainly. Then the goblins start their attacks. Good well baalnced atatcks. Hard is best, maybe even very hard and the AI perform pretty well - minor pauses. It is a good assult ot watch. Overall in fact I would give this map 4.5 for playability and then 3.5 for map design as there are a few flaws. The general countryside looks great - nice rocky atmosphere. However the mystical woods of Lothlorien die! Also more majorly there is a wodden gatehouse next in fron of a stone by the keep. The AI do not have to destory the stone gatehouse as having destroyed the wooden gatehouse they can sneak round. Lothlorien is certainly not bad - perhaps it could have been a little more mystical and less crampt. Good wooden design overall. Also one tiny thing is that near the middle/bottom of the map there is a river which disappears down onto a marsh at min height. Just a tiny thing but it looks a little strange. General map design good, although slightly too rigid in places. This is a good idea and well converted into a map and I think it does deserve the 4.0. A nice bit of storyline and a good idea that nobody else has thought of yet. Will you be doing a Helms Deep Figster? It will be good. This is a nice, creative map - definetly give it a go!

The updated version brings little new to the map, keeping the quality of the map about the same.
swgb2003 This was as really fun map to play, I will definately come back to play this this map over and over. The map also looked really nice. Good job.

you know NAT i was thinking of making a helms deep, but i thought how can it compare to relux. I thought that was the best helms deep map ever. On the other hand thanx for pointing out the flaws. i will fix the gate house and i will also make it so that it looks more mystical. I dont know how though. The Marsh bit is staying since i kinda liked the steaming ground. One last thing how can i make it so the woods dont die ?

This was a very fun map, another LotR by figster. Many of your maps have been based solely out of the movie, and the story lines show it. Maybe to get an ultimate LotR feel, read the books, Tolkien gave vivid descriptions of all the places in his books. Heck, he even wrote other books explaining the trilogy.

Playabiliy - 4
This was very fun, and I gave a four to show it. I liked having to put my troops into position quickly.

Balance - 3
Pretty well balanced, although the enemy didn't even touch the second gatehouse, not to mention the third

Creativity - 4
Very Creative, enough said.

Map Design - 4
Again, about how the books AND the movie in the movie in this instance, Lothlorien was known for its beauty and large trees. On its borders were rolling grasslands and small trees. It was not bleak and rocky like you portrayed it. Even inside the forest were many large hills and a few rivers. Overall, I was very, very impressed with the design. Great work.

Story/Instructions - 4
Very Good, I think you put in as much as it allows. There were a few qualms I had with it though, I'm a stickler for details ;) especially being a hardcore LotR fan. Its Haldir not Hadrir.

Overall, another good LotR map from Figster.

This map looked good. The borders look different but still good. I liked the map a lot. I will bring out some lotr maps so you tell me what you think. I like map because well balanced in units.
