While the King is away leading his army to war against a neighboring county, he has appointed you, his brother to take control of his southern most castle, South Ridge. When you arrived at the keep you didn't expect to you would actually need to defend it. It was peaceful when you arrived. The guards where chatting and the knights were comparing their blades. The archers were competing at the archery range and the engineers were busy creating new seige weapon designs. Deer wandered the countryside and birds sang song while nesting on the ramparts. What a boring assignment you thought. But soon a cold wind began to blow, and it seemed that some unkown force was lowering the men's spirits. While talking to the pikemen outside the gate you heard a rider approching rapidly from the north. "M'lord!" shouted the scout, "M'lord! The Pig! He's coming!" Within minutes the whole garrison was up at arms. Archers lined the walls and crossbowmen rushed to the towers. The knights readied their steeds and the pikemen grabbed their halberds. As you stand on top of one of the towers, you see the Pig's men advance to the castle. Spearmen, macemen, knights and archers... the Pig's men seemed never ending. Your squire approches you. "Sir? Your sword." YOu take you blade from the squire. An acient two-handed sword that once belonged to your grandfather. You run your hand over the cold steel... The blade has never failed you, and never will. For today, the Pig's men will die. You will make sure of that. And besides, at least you won't be bored anymore!
Notes - 1. This map is meant to be played on defending, but attacking can also be played, the only problem with that is that you will not be able to control the men who attack south of the castle or the siege weapons.
2. I've also found that playing on hard level of difficulty works best on this map.
This was a good map. I liked the castle, but it was just too easy defending and too hard attacking (as you said, it was designed for defending). But it was good I couldnt control the catapults. Som things are just out of your control, thats reality. There is one thing I didnt liked. My men couldnt attack the whole castle, just its front gate. But otherwise I liked the stone posts near the main gate (I think there are 3 of them) and also the stone outpost. It was very nice castle, like I said.
