King Theoden of Rohan has fled to the mighty fortress of Helm's Deep,
because he thinks his people will be safe there. Now it is up to you,
to make sure the defenses hold, or play as Sarumans hordes and overrun
the fortress.
I thougt that the deeping wall was long enough like this, because first I had a shorter
one, I also placed a lot of (Elvish) archers, if you think there are to many
you can still modify it yourselve. The horses in front of the keep represent
King Theoden and Aragorn when they ride out when they are almost fully overrun.
There are also some archers behind the deeping wall who as seen in the film attack
when the Uruk-Hai come trough the opening in the wall. I was planning to make the
hole in the wall, but then they would only come trough te wall and won't attack the
gatehouse. In the back there are the caves where the people flee to
I would recommend to play it at normal, hard or very hard.
I am planning to do some modifications, so if you got something I have to modify please tell me
I also want to add some more scenery but I am a bit to lazy to do that
This was a a bit of a disappointment. It was so easy - you could sit back and watch as your many crossbowmen and archers anhilated their army. Would not be too bad if you had less men. On hard and very hard to hold the outer gate you have to concentrate your fire on the rams and repair the gate but it is still very easy with 1% losses from their crossbowmen. For creativity and map design the map can not get anything higher than a 4/10. The map design is almost non existent with max height simply surrounding the fortress. Although the actual fortifications are quite well designed, simple but good structually so it is clear that teh author if he wanted to could make a fine map. Lack of countryside is disappointing. Look at soem of the better maps on styronghold heaven to see how the countryside is done on their maps. Something that does redeem this map is the storyline and instruction and it is clear that the authore has made a effort. Almost a 4 here so good work - it is nice to see a full description page. There is however very little next to the map itself so a 3 balances out. Overall not too bad - really need top work on balance - delete half the defenders and serious work on countryside. Good structually and storyline. Better luck next time.

With my Helm's Deep Gold Edition in the works, I thought I would see how this one was.
