around 350, their was some great war between the roman empire and the germanic tribes.
one centuary after, the collapsing roman empire try a last go : destroy the Germanic sacred tree, thus civilize the saxon tribes and use them as auxiliar against the hunnic tribes.
they took the very last legio, take some wisigothic auxiliaries and attack this region.
after a walk, they achieve to their goal. the main part of the army is fighting the wotanist franckish warrior and a small group arrive near the tree. after having build the traditionnal castrum, they are preparing their axes.
you imagine what can the reaction of the saxon be...
this story is completly imaginary, in the reality this sacred tree is supposed to have been cutted by Charlemagne (Carolus Magnus) 3,5 centuary after, around 800 ...
this situation can be played as the saxon tribes (cavalry, spear men, bow) or as the defensor (roman infantry, wisigothic spearmen and cavalery). (in fact I do love to attack and defend, the map I can found here are almost always attacking only)
Not a bad first time effort at all - the map is simple but good fun to play hence the playability 4. It is more fun to defend beacuse of all the knights and spearmen you have adn it is rather easy while in attack your main chance due to all the traps is with missle troops. The map is simple but effective - the fort looks good but for the scores to go up things do need more work and a bit of complexity. To be honest there is very little wrong with the map, just things to work on beacuse you have made a fine start. I recommend you download some high rated maps and take a look at how they are designed - it is a good way fo learning. Storyline and instructions fine, a high three as it is clear you have an effort to write a descriptive page - could use capital letters! Not bad at all though - could work on the english but that is abviousely not your fault. Overall a fun but simple map - good work both for attack and defence.
