Romris Island is on the edge of two kingdoms, Herrick Uthensvar to the east, and Roydin to the west. Your allegiance is with Herrick Uthensvar. Your king has been fighting a war in another country, far to the south, for several years. That battle is nearly over, and though it looks like he will return to Herrick Uthensvar victorious, his troops and supplies are depleted. Now rumors have reached him that Roydin is readying itself to invade. The king has commissioned you to return to the Island of Romris and develop its resources for war. The fortifications will need to be completed in the event Roydin attacks there first, rather than the mainland of Herrick Uthensvar. When the king returns to his homeland, he will expect stockpiles of arms and food, and a sufficient population to join him in battle. Any settlers who join you on the Island will surely realize the precarious position in which they find themselves, and will need the comforts of both the Church and the tavern.
on the whole a capital economic map. I really had a lot of fun playing it and tons to do. Just needed two tries at hard, but nevertheless thrilly until the last minutes' break because of the multiple goals to fulfill. Time limit and all disturbung events, like fires, plagues or bandits are well-timed and require a quick and effective reaction. The basic problem at the beginning will be a well-balanced and well-working supply of food. For that you have to interfere regulating several times to achieve an increasing popularity ( as fast as you can), in steppin' up ale consumption and in satisfying all religious requirements. The demanded production of weapons is slowly running up, but will constantly improve by extending this product line, so that you can master the demanded goals of bows and swords just in time. As for the rest it's floatingly to play, sensitively balanced, so that you'll get a sense of well-being after a short time. The island itself with hills and flat areas is formed like an ink blot with a characteristic originality. There's plenty of wood and you are well advised to create enough woodcutters from the scratch to get enough wood for your future building plans or the safe enclosure of the keep. Iron production should be systematically enforced, too, because of the long distance transports.
You permanently have to control all production branches to reach a successful end of this mission. All in all a beautiful pretentious eco-map with a special charme, that you should play. Maybe a little bit hard, but along with the right strategy a good one to handle. Story and gameplay are conformable, the objectives are quite clear.
