Castle Caarcrionlas, named after myself, is a fairly large town resting on top of a hill, overlooking a small fort and the wheat farms that it guards. Your enemies will include a good number of swordsmen and pikemen, and some seige equipment is to be expected. Defence shouldnt be hard, given the excessively large amount of crossbowmen available to the player, but the lack of numerous towers has to be countered by moving your missle troops to and fro on the ramparts.
A very nice and detailed map. Two great forces shock with each other on a castle on a hill (altought the hill looks a bit artificial...).
Playability: 3 Nice map on playability, but you have to play it a few times until you know how are the sections of the castle. Also it may be a bit slow on some cumputers, there are too many things at a time. When you attack the siege, however, you can't build any siege equipment so to attack is very hard.
Balance: 5 At first it looks like you'll be smashed by the attacking force, but when you use your armoury to get more units you get a chance. As the computer doesn't do this, when you attack the castle has "fewer units". I don't know if you planned this, or if it's acidental, but grat anyway!
Creativity: 3 A castle split in so many sections and the way the buildings are placed allowing smooth movement while having a great production is good, altought it's a siege map. Other than that there isn't nothing much new.
Map Design: 4 As I said before, I like the castle divided on many different sections and the way the buildings are placed. But the castle is mostly plains (I don't know it is were supposed to be like that), with occasional hills and rock formations. The rocks are nice, actually.
Story/Instructions: 2 To the author: You could use a back story for your map, or create an immaginative story about it like I did in my maps. There's few written and this section should be better worked.
Overall: Caarcrinolas is a nice map to defend, a bit disapointing on attack, but you can give it a try. If you like big castles and moving troops around, this one is for you.
