The year is Anno Domini 1296. Long have you gathered resources and prepared your troops. You have sent letters to Pope Boniface and finally you have received the answer you have been hoping for. Boniface accepts your claim to your ancestral home of Felsburgh and has given you his blessing to retake it from the grasp of your step-father. As your troops arrive on the plain below the castle, you feel a touch of fear, but also a sense of pride: Felsburgh, the castle which defenses your father perfected lies before you. A hard battle lies ahead of you, but you know that God is on your side.
The map is to be played offensive, a defensive version will follow.
Tips: - You may need to change your troops around. - The playtesters have managed to complete the siege, but agree that it's a hard one. Be careful, and be patient.

I exhausted usual methods it the attempt to complete this map and so I decided to go a bit cheaty ;) With an army of 100 pikemen, 250 crossbowmen and the rest engineers with wooden shields I completed the map (but it was still very close). I cleared most of the outer walls with crossbowmen and so my pikemen could simply carve a path through - then came the final push to the inner gate and on to the keep! With support from my remaining crossbowmen my pikemen charged forward first to the gate and then on to the keep. I completed the map with 98% loses. I had something like 12 pikemen left! I admit that I am not a very good attacking siege player and so I think the map deserved a 5 for balance as it did turn out perfect for me in the end. The map is well designed and creative - good countryside and clever castle buildinf - good towers and walls. The setting is very nice and the map deserves a safe 9/10 for map design and creativity. There is a pleasent site description with mini map and a few tips. The change your troop choice one was very useful for me! An interesting story as well. Overall this is a hard and challenging siege but I am sure you will get there in the end! It is well designed and fun to play. Good work!

A great map! Really hard and challenging, even the best combination that I can do with my armies couldn't defeat the defenses on hard. And barely winned on normal.
Playability: 5 Attacking this castle is a challenge. You have to overcom every kind of defense possible, and annoying towers on the top of the cliffes firing at your men when you still can't reach them. Reminds me of the last mission.
Balance: 5 This map was intentionally hard, and managing to get a good balance when talking about such HUGE number of soldiers makes this scenario deserve a 5.
Creativity: 4 To surpass the castle you need to pass trought many obstacles and finally break on the final keep, that looks very sturdy and strong.
Map Design: 4 Good on most aspects, not forgeting the eye candy that includes the huts far from the castle. A gorgeous waterfall and a town hidden on the back are things that always improve.
Story/Instructions: 4 Good and immersive, however more would be nice.
Overall: Great Challenge Not for newbies, but once you get there play this map to test yourself. You'll like it. Great job, Jayhawk!
