The fort is on a ring near a mountain by the sea and to the top right is a forest. The enemy swarms in and dosent attack one place, it attacks the whole castle. How intelegant is that.
I give this score due to the fact that this map was just way too easy, even on very hard. I just withdrew my ground forces to the keep, and let the archers decimate the invaders. Also, there were areas where my forces had to travel in long roundabout ways to get to thier destination due to lack of stairs. This was also irritating.
Balance: 2
Again, this map was just too easy. My archers alone wiped out the entire force. Now if all the force had been macemen! And you definitely needed to have some archers, too.
Creativity: 4
I liked the use of the towers as the bridge, and the other aspects of the map were well thought out and showed a streak of inginuety. Very tricky building the wooden gates over the holes (minimized ground). I kept wondering why the enemy broke down the gate, only to move somewhere else. Very sneaky.
Map Design: 4
Good continuity amongst th different styles of terrain, with nice use of the river and fords. The mountain castle structures were well done, and the designer's use of the wooden walled area was also well done. A little more variety was needed, IMHO, and the presence of the slaughtered herds of deer was distracting.
Story/Instructions: 2
Sorry, but as I pointed out in a rating on one of your other seiges, to me a mini-map and an extended storyline add realism and excitement, as well as letting the player get involved in the map. And the in-map story was a little short and uninformative, too.
In review: nice map, good design skills, just need to work on force balance and add that storyline!! :)
