In this map, you are king of one crazy castle. The enemies want in, but behind every gate is a special trap or obstical. Your job is to use what little resources you have to slow the enemy troops advance and to spring as many traps as possible.
Hints and tips:
Troop placement is crucial in the beginning.
Some parts of the castle are weaker than others.
Try not to open the gates. All of them are locked for a reason. Opening some gates may backfire, so its best to keep them closed unless absolutely necessary.
Always watch gate strength for when they are about to collapse.
Make sure you play this map on "very hard." I beat it on that level so its not impossible.
Please give me some comments on the map. It helps me make better maps. If this map, or my other maps, were too easy for you, let me know.
Good luck; you'll need it!

No need of luck to win this map I fear, except perhaps if you follow bad advice to not open gates. Except perhaps avoid to open gates closing area were tons of dog are, and avoid to pass close to these are with your troops, you'de better to open a way to move your troops to the chocke points. asking to not open gate is a bit like asking to dont do anithing and let the game run by itself. Probably in these condition will you loose, but it will be a "show map" not a map to play. If you organize your defence, mostly to mass missile troops in front and eventually later withdraw to a second defence line, no luck is need to win even at very hard like I tested. Castle is original but fantaisist. We are far from a medieval convincing like castle (not a critic however). Outside decoration is a catastroph : there is simply no effort at all in this section. The map is not a failure, it lack however a bit of work. It could be fun to play one, but I'm afraid not enough to be play a second time. For balance even if victory make no doubt, you cant win doing nothing so far, and even here first line will probably be breached (at least at very hard.
Map is perhaps a bit to reliant of pyromaniac solution on my taste, with lot of pitched engineers (perhaps close to 20) and large pitched area inside castle maze structure. My infantery saw no action, it wasn't needed anyway, and my cavalery bravely died (no choice anyway withdraw was impossible).
Overall it's funny to play once, but just keep in mind, that very good map take more than a few hours to be produced. |

Playability: 2
The map plays fine, but it's a one time only kind of map. Just no replay value.
Balance:3
AI attacks well, but numerous hosts of flaws in your own troops.
Creativity:2
Nice thought, but bad execution. Plain looking walls, ridiculous number of sectioned off areas with ill-designed troops and animal groupings.
Map Design:2
Honestly, it looks like you put your time in the castle, and then just said "the heck with it" to the rest of the map.
Story/Instructions: 2
No minimap, no storyline on description page or in map. Hints are okay, but like Jalis said, you have to put a lot more effort in your maps. |
