This my first published map. I hope it is enough of a challenge. It blends economics and Military strategy. I would like very much to hear some feedback so I can incorporate the critiques into the second segment, "Raid on Bloodblade"
This is the first map in a series of undetermined length.
You are a young knight and Suitor to King John's Daughter Christine. Partly to keep you and the Princess "Pure" and partly to test your mettle, the King has sent you to Kilgore Falls, in the foothills of the Lun Range. The Kings Niemisis, Lord Byron was preparig an attack on the area's previous warden, Lord Phillip before he withdrew with most of his men to defend his own besieged kingdom.
Lord Byron has sent word ahead to his men a few months ago to begin to attack. Your spies have intercepted a few communicades and a steady stream of small attacks are expected. Last word from the Jade Coast is that Byron would quckly dispatch of the meager resistance the kings Loyalist could muster on the coast, but cape had held firm, though it is now completely isolated. Lord Byron, could not risk a strong hold so close to home and would be returning soon to mount a massive offensive, Leaving Sir Wallace to mop up the coast and keep preassure on the cape.
You must withstand the siege, for many reasons, but most of all losing Kilgore Falls would give Lord Byron an unhindered march to Kapistra and put Christine's very life in danger. It would also give Bryon political legitimacy in the eyes of local villagers and the Kings Rivals in the north. If you survive the onslaught, you must prepare quickly for a counter offensive.
You have little time to prepare the defensive, and must make the best use of the meager crop land the foothills afford. All the while gathering supplies for your eventual counter. Resources are plentiful, but Lord Phillip has taken most of the army with him and the local trade is a drunken old Sot that would rather trade stories than goods.
