In the land of Romania there is a notorious castle some say is inhabited by the Devil himself. Amongst the steep and craggy mountain peaks you will find Castle Dracula. Home to the most notorious lord in the world. A castle built on shear cliffs in dangerous lands. Long ago the Draculas were a proud and hauty people. They taxed the peasants heavily and made them work as slaves for Lord Dracula. Time passed and the labors of the people grew ever more fierce until, one day, an old woman came to the castle to beg mercy for her son. He had been caught stealing food from the granary and was taken prisoner and tortured in the castle towers. The unfeeling lord dismissed the old woman and had her thrown to the wolves. Not long after, the wolves came for Lord Dracula and all his house. The villagers ran from their houses as the wolves ravaged the town and tore through the castle. Not a soul would survive. Now the curse of the house of Dracula has been contained until some fool discovers it.
Spectacular and near-perfect just about sums it up!
I suppose I should write something more, however... :)
The haunting atmosphere is set with the story, and reinforced with the howling of the wolves, the graveyards, the unattended braziers. The castle itself is utterly fantastic. Lots of eye candy everywhere you look. Usually I like to have fewer starting goods, but in this case it was just right. It took a while to figure out how to place things to optimize the placement of the stockpile, so the starting goods were perfect to tide it over until production was in full swing. And even though the castle was complete, I found there was still quite a bit for me to do. Anything I wanted to do, as a matter of fact. Including trying to free the wolves!
Is this your first map, Lord Sheene? I checked through all the lists, and didn't see any others you'd uploaded.
Splendid map, highly recommended (and the first 5 I've ever given)!

Playability: 3
I personaly think that a good map (exluding seiges) need lots of room to build,
but on the other hand, there didn't seem to be any glitches, or bugs.
Balance: 3
Again, it was a question of space. This would have got a 4, but there isn't a signpost.
Creativity: 4
Loved the whole idea of the wolves, I acceidentally destroyed the gate-house, thus releasing what seemed like the hounds of hell. Prehaps, this might make a good invasion...
Map Design: 5
Very much attention must have gone into the creation.
Story/Instructions: 5
No instructions can be given with a Free-Build, so they relly entierly on story. And what a stroy this is! Maybe you should write novels...or not...
Additional Comments:
- Loved the empty braisers.
- This whould make a neet invasion.
- Great story.
- Not enough space to build for me, sorry.
EDIT: I raised the creativity 4->5, I certiainly wouldn't have thought of a map like this.
+ Playability: 3->4, this also deserves brownie points for making it into Spotlight on design; Concelement. & no-one esle seamed to have a problem with it.
P.S. You were right Kester, I couldn't find any other maps buy "Lord Sheene" in the advanced search.
It must be at least his first up-load.
