"Too bad sir..." speaks the defense commander.

"What is it?" NeKoeNMa on his chair by his work table.

"The Clarnakeses managed to conquer Koenma City."

"What? Are you sure?"


"So... they did the impossible... They are really ferocious on battle... And we are trapped."

"Yes sir, but most of their army is already destroyed. They are severely weakened. The castle defenses should be able to defeat them."

"No... they will surely get reinforcements. I`m the main target. If I die all the country will crumble. Then they`ll be the only ones with power to rule the world."

"So, what are your orders?"

"The ballista should be on alert state for catapults... The henchmen need to restore their pitch supplies."
"Is that all?"


The commander leaves the office to give the received orders.

"I already know the danger the Clarnakeses are since the start of our culture. We`ve been fighting like this for millenia. I can`t let they have me now. I still have things to do. Should we win, they`ll not get away with this."

Neko leaves his room and climbs the round stairs. He`s at the top of the main tower. He sees the city burning in flames, letting a small tear escape his eyes. He then decided to watch the battle from there, no matter what happens.

Koenma Castle is where my imaginative being lives on my imaginative world. It was not designed to defend the city, but to proect me, or... well... my imaginative me. To make this castle I tried to work on a beatifull, secure and small castle. A lot of eye candy trying to balance it with the invasion.

I have enjoyed playtesting and now playing Koenma Castle. This is a fun, fairly quick, siege and it works both in attacking and defending modes.

I tried first as defender. Two times playing on NORMAL I was creamed by the strong attacking army. Third time I played on EASY and gained the victory without too much trouble. I plan to go back and try a slightly different strategy on NORMAL - I think I can beat it!

Next as attacker (NORMAL Setting) I had to sort out the best way to handle my siege equipment. I had to tweak my opening moves a bit (took a few restarts) but I was able to win finally without too much trouble. Hard to rate this because I played an earlier version of this map 3-4 times during playtesting. Playability – 4.5, Balance - 4 for attacking and 5 for defending.

Nothing too unusual about the map terrain. Additional rocks, variations in elevation, plants, etc would have given it a more natural appearance. The castle itself is not large but I liked the design. There are outer defenses already in ruins, there is a main wall with towers and protected by a moat, and an inner gated defensive area. Some nice touches with the water flowing through the castle. The use of dialog in the story makes it interesting - and the story explains a bit about the designer's purpose for creating the map. Some hints are also included. Story - 4

Thanks NeKoeNMa for a fun game. Main thing I would suggest would be to improve the appearance of the map terrain and also work on the placement of the production units and various “outbuildings” around the castle so that they look more natural.

I recommend this map for a fairly quick bit of siege fun – be sure to try it both attacking and defending.
