Old King Rabican, beloved by all in the kingdom, had two sons, the Duc de Truffe, the elder, and you, Ancil, the younger. In the center of his peaceable kingdom is a great harbor with fertile green fields on either side. In his desire to see his sons happy, King Rabican divided the lands on either side of the harbor. As the elder, the Duc de Truffe's castle and village on the West side was built first. When you came of age, construction on your own castle was begun in the East. No sooner had the walls gone up than the Duc turned traitor and killed your father and destroyed the ancestral home.
Thinking you no great threat, the Duc left a regent to rule in his stead, and rushed off to aid his new treacherous ally, in the next kingdom bordering his lands, who is at war with The Snake. The Duc has left minimal forces behind, who are sure to prove bothersome. If he hears of any uprising, he is sure to send reinforcements. The time has come for you to establish your village, to take in the people driven from their homes by your brother. You feel certain that his own peasants will depart from his keep in droves if they have hope that he can be defeated.
Note: This is an ecovasion, heavy on the eco. I debated whether to list it as Easy or Normal. Victory is most definitely possible, on the 2nd try if not the 1st. The invasions are probably on the easy side, the goals are not. ;) I finally decided on Normal because there is a lot going on. It has a long game play, with a lot to accomplish, and should keep you rather busy.
If you play at Normal, you should be able to achieve Victory at about 19-20 game years, before the last couple of larger invasions. And if for some reason you haven't gathered all the resources by then, well... you'll have another couple of years to get them, but you'll have to put up with more invasions!
If you play at Hard, you should be able to finish within 27 game years. Playing at Hard is probably the best gameplay for this map.
