This is a far place... but a good one to hide yourself. You march with your army to the place indicated by your spies, bad luck. Something bad has happened, while going to that place you suffer an ambush -affortunately a little one- that reduces your forces to the half. You and your men are close to exhaustion when you found that cave... and you give the order to attack...
This story is the opposite, as if you were going to attack instead of defending, of the one from the map...
rate my map please! as it is the first one I submit... good luck..
Playability: 3
A very nice little siege scenario with a decent challenge to face. It was fun to siege something different from a castle. A cave is really interesting to attack, but the overall payability is average. Once the archers defending archers were taken out, then there were no other lines of defense, other than a few foot soldiers and some killing pits. Perhaps some sort of barricade to stop the player and make him or her think a strategy up.
Balance: 4
I just edited my review as GillB pointed out to me that the map is to be played as the attacker. I apologize for not paying too good of attention to your instructions. The map's balance is perfect. It is very difficult to attack the soldiers in the cave. A near perfect score, however, I think that there were a few too many killing pits, which really mowed down my troops. You put a good balance system into the map, congratulations!
Creativity: 2
I liked the hiding in a cave idea. That is an interesting concept. I have never seen a siege scenario without a castle. Very original, I like the idea. Keep using original and never before used ideas in your maps and you will score well! Perhaps you can expand on the cave idea in your future maps, and maybe get a better score. The creativity score was lower because the map was short in gameplay and there were no enthralling challenges that had to be met.
Map Design: 3
Good use of shrubs in the map as well as rocks. But try adding more textures in your maps, such as dirt, a few more stones, and maybe some more grass. I liked your river, in gave the player a small obstacle they had to cross in order to get to the cave.
Story/Instructions: 4
Your story was excellent! I liked the part with the ambush and hiding out in a cave. That was a nice twist, keep that up in your future map stories.
OVERALL: You have great potential, keep designing and expanding on your ideas, and you will score extrememly high. I liked your map design, but perhaps, add a little more detail to the terrain. Test your maps out carefully, to ensure that whoever downloads your map will have an enjoyable time. Very nice and creative map, I hope to see more in the future. Good luck, and keep designing!
