This scenarios pretty hard I reccomend using knights in the front to cut down the archers and always have spearmen on the wall but only in the begginning to knock down ladders. You may need to tax your people for gold eventually but if you use it wisely probaly not. I wouldnt reccoment having a lot of people in this scenario the most should be 50. Well I hope you have fun with this scenario c ya.

OK, To be honest, at first glance, “Army over the horizon,” with its very simple terrain shaping, was not very impressive. The terrain is virtually all either unadorned flat green low land or flat medium-high land with straight up cliffs between. A town has been set up in an area ringed on three sides by these cliffs and a stone wall with towers and gates has been constructed across the open side. There is a stream which originates in a squarish lake and comes down from the cliff in a waterfall. Little or no use is made of map editor options such as plants and rocks. Map Design - 2

After seeing this I expected I might find major bugs or imbalances in the game play. However once I began to play I quickly forgot the no-frills map design and had to focus all my attention on a battling to protect the settlement against increasingly strong and frequent attacks. From the beginning of play you have no time to rest as the first attack comes quickly and only fairly short intervals separate subsequent attacks. Between these you must quickly generate military units and augment defenses or you will not survive. This is the first time in a long while that I have played a map where laddermen have to be taken seriously. After three attempts on NORMAL I failed even to survive to the final massive invasion. I switched to EASY and won fairly easily without too much trouble. Given a bit more time, I believe I could have succeeded on NORMAL.

I really must give this new designer credit for producing a well balanced and challenging map. Balance – 5, Playability - 4

This map provides you with the means to harvest or extract plenty of wood, stone, wood, iron, and food. At the outset you are also given many weapons production units and can build more as needed. The layout of the settlement is fairly standard, no special “eyecandy” although JuBuOrangie made some attractive groupings of production buildings. Trade is limited. No crossbows can be manufactured or purchased. Creativity – 3

The story is minimal. Some hints are given but no attempt is made to provide a setting or any reason for why this battle is taking place or who is fighting. Story – 2

JuBuOrangie – a good start but you will need to spend much more time learning and using the map editor tools to round and craft the landscape and add details that will give a natural appearance. There are many good examples of this in the download sections of Stronghold Heaven. I also encourage you to dream up an involving story to accompany the map and motivate the player to want to win. For an example, may I suggest you look at my map Camargue of Rohan (invasion # 903)
