Mighty Caernarfon is possibly the most famous of Wales' many castles. It's sheer scale and commanding presence easily set it apart form the rest- and, to this day, still trumpet the intentions of it's builder, Edward I. Begun in 1283 as the difinitive chapter in his coquest of Wales, Caernarfon was constructed not only as a military stronghold but also as a seat of government and royal palace. The castle's majestic persona is no architectural accident: it was designed to echo the walls of Constantinople, the imperial power of Rome and the dream castle, "the fairest that ever man saw", of a Welsh myth and legend. After all these years, Caernarfon's immense strength remains undimmed.
Warning: This mission is on the borderline between Hard and Impossible. The invasions are fairly challenging, but the most difficult is your ecomomy. After a while it will decline rapidly, especially after the period of 6 months containing 7 disasters! Only a true master could beat this on hard, and people like me will have to stay on easy, and sometimes normal.
Keep in mind that this is my opinion only! Personally, it didn't interest me. Only because the player's options are far too limited. There are no natural resources except wood and you can neither buy or produce weapons of any kind - save siege engines and engineers.
The first attack comes well before you can establish any sort of ecomomy at all.
So the ONLY thing for the player to do is to move troups around - and that's pretty much it. It truly IS a challenge, as promised, but lacks the elements and feel that makes a map interesting - the ability to plan and develope a stategy for success. Others may like it - I hope so.

A good attempt at a famous castle, a map which has much to offer and a designer that is improving each time.
Playability -5- there is nothing I love more than a challenge and this map certainly was one, the limmitedness of thing in this map, as welll aa the struggle so early in the map is one thoroughly enjoyed.
Balance -4- Perhaps a bit too hard and a bit to easy in some areas it would have been better if the attacks wrer more smoth throughout for some an early attack in the starting situation is unappealing, I enjoyed it so a 4 here.
Creativity -4- a nice representation of the castle and an overalll good design.
Map Design -3- this area needs some work, there are only hills and trees wna dit would be good to se some cliffs, shrubs etc. next time try to add a bit more.
Story/Instructions -4- try to add more to the storyline, it seems that new designers lack all too often in this area, believe me I know i use to do it as well, so did my design partner Arthus but as we went on we realised a story is as important to a map ans the balance,playability,creativity and map design.
A good fight here if you like a challeng both military and economic then this is the map for you.
