Jerusalem has fallen leaving many Christians, who had made Palestine their home, confused, disorganised, fearful, and bitter with their perceived betrayal by the Great European Lords and Monarchs. This state of affairs made it possible for a simple knight to gather remnants of the native people both Moslem and Christian desperate for safety in a land no longer providing any. In order to survive you turn to banditry exacting tribute and raiding Christian and Moslem alike. You, however, realise that banditry is only a short term solution and are always on the lookout for area in which to settle.

Then the discovery of small outcrops of stone and iron make the area almost perfect.
