Cragmore is a small area in Northern England. It is very hilly, and also contains a castle built on a natural rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Two rivers, the Gorn and the Ventern flow into the sea here, The Gorn from nearby Lake Gorthobia, and the Ventern from the Penines. The Castle here contains three sections-The Outer courtyard, the economic section, and the Inner Courtyard, which is inside the thickest section of Castle Wall. Any attacker wishing to get into the Keep must first destroythe Outer Gatehouse, and then hack their way through the inner walls to the Keep. The area of Cragmore, would, if it were around in Medieval times, be a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI).
"Men, we must not let this castle fall into the hands of those Scotish Barbarians! Who knows what those flithy scum would do with the place! Probably take it apart and eat it! We must protect the castle at all cost! To Arms Men!"
The Archers run to their specified tower, and the Swordsmen and Pikeman patrol the Inner Courtyard, while all the workers go to the Keep tostay as safe as possible. The Lord retreats to the Keep, and prepares for the inevitable siege force.
"Hurry! The Scots will be hear shortly! everybody, get to your post and ready yourself! Here they come!"
The Maceman, yelling "We are the Maceman!" Come charging to the moat, accompanied by archers, and engineers, who build many Catapults and Trebuchets. The Main Gate is destroyed, and the Maceman pour towards the thick walls of the Inner Courtyard, whilst a group of Swordsmen march up to assist them. One by one, the Towers fall, and the gatehouse is breached! The soldiers pour in, up the wall stairs, and towards the Lord...
Cragmore is the castle featured in the opening film of Stronghold 2, available to download at places like fileplanet, and Stronghold World.

Hello, Lord Thingol. You may be disappointed by this review, but I'm afraid you have some things to work on.
The map is a regular siege invasion with 3 barriers that are placed between you and the enemy. You have a hefty sum of archers and your enemies are mostly macemen and swordsmen. Nothing too original in the map that makes it stick out as a really fun siege. Perhaps add more enthralling challenges in your next map.
The map had good balance. I could beat the map on easy and normal, but not hard. The map had quite a decent balance, which ensured fair gameplay for both sides. Good work here.
This and the map design section are the areas that need the most work. Majority of the map is hills and trees without texture at all. No shrubs, no stones, no differing textures. Just endless fields of grassy hills. Put some more original ideas into your maps. Add more texture to the hills, such as dirt, stones, and shrubs.
Map Design: 2
I think a little more effort could have been put into the design of the map. I think the coastline shouldn't be just grass, that just doesn't look very life like. Try adding in a beach, rocks, and more rugged terrain.
Good job with the story. I enjoyed reading it over, and it gave me background information about where the castle was and whatnot.
OVERALL: This map needs some work. For example, those rocks in the ocean. Try to add small, rugged islands or rock gatherings with the beach tool and place many rocks and a few other stones and such. See how it turns out. Before you do any major changes to a map, always be sure to ask yourself, does this look good and realistic? You tend to produce quite a few maps in a short period of time, Lord Thingol. Try working on a map for a long period of time, perfecting every aspect of your scenario. Try your absolute best and make it look extremely life like. I would like to see the final product. Good luck with your future maps, and keep trying.
