My castle was build ontop of a pretty large hill with water surrounding it. I put many trees into the map to make it look sort of forresty. For eyecandy, I put in the bridge for the entrance of my castle. You don't have much resources to start with so you should plan carefuly what you want to do. Overall, it's a fun map to play if you like a challenge.
As I started this map, the first thing I noticed was that there were trees everywhere. Although it was quite fun to use a shell of a castle to gradually build and expand from, I spent the first few minutes clearing out trees. Apart from that though, an enjoyable play.
Apart from the tree issue, the map was well balanced. With limited valley floor and limited goods, it is a challenge to grow your castle. Howver, because of the design of the map the castle soon reaches its limits.
I like the idea of building and expanding a pre-built castle. Although I have never really played a free build before, this was a surprise (the in game ones cosist mostly of flat plains).
I liked the map design, and thought the castle, especially the bridge and towers, was well done. A bit rough occasionally but overall good.
Why no story? Apart from a short background intro (about 3 lines) there is no story. Put one in!!!
Overall a fun map, and one that could easily become a future invasion with the right work. Well done Spetsnazz!
