The year is 1390.
The war against France has taken a turn for the worst for the forces of the crown. Despite your timely shipment of goods, the King's forces have been overwhelmed and forced back to England, with the vengeful french army following closely. Quickly, the invaders push into the whole of England, and turn thier sites to the coastal cities for ports to bring in thier rienforcements.
The holy city of Rethnor is a perfect target, with its vast resources and the fine dock on its eastern shores. Also the site of a great cathedral, the capture of Rethnor would be a major spiritual blow to the local cities as well. The french have already flooded the countryside, and your scouts report no avenue for riders to call for rienforcements.
It will be up to you and the city's loyal garrison of soldiers, along with the bold monks who defend the holy grounds of the cathedral, to repel the invaders. As the enemy army approaches, you kneel in prayer atop your keep to recieve the blessings of the cathedral's high priest. Rising, you don your helmet and draw your sword to face the oncoming horde.
"May god be with us..."
