William looked out from his tall tower in London. 1067. Although he was offically King, many Saxons and English would not acknowledge him, and Britain was not secure. He knew that he would have to build a better England in order to appease the Saxons, and the only way to do this was to improve its ecomomy, and expand its lands...
You play the part of the William the Conqueror in the Decade of 1080, and your job is to build castles and assert yourself as the true King. Certainly as you quell rebels, many will flock to you.
The Map represents the whole of the british isles, as you can see by its shape. (apologies for lack of screenshot)

Very interesting map, I really enjoyed it! The design is excelent and certainly very creative. I think it is the first I have seen; I myself have thought about making a map in the shape of England but have found it difficult to put into practice... You however have passed with flying colours!
The map is a little too monotmous however, my army was so big that I had no problem taking Wales, the only problem I did really have was recruiting men fast enough! So it was a little too easy and I found the map a little too long and too slow. I think it may have been better if you could have built walls and had to fortify your own castle and hold off much bigger attacks. However it was still entertaining and the 20 swordsmen gave me quite a fright as it takes so mnay spearmen to kill them!
The design is excelent and very creative, I built my base just above Norfolk and that worked really well. It was clever having the map run into the edges as well so that the enemy could attack from Cornwall, Scotland and the South East. The countryside was nice as well, mainly wooded but with some good hills and the Snake's base was excelent. The story was also good, a fine adaption from history! All in all this is a good solid map, could do with some improving to make it a bit harder and more gripping all the way through. Still I would happily recommend it!
