This is a collection of some early skirmish maps that I created after beating the skirmish trail. I wanted some more variety in the available maps where I could use some unique stratagies.
Medieval Europe: 4 Players: Unbalanced: I TRIED to make the map look like Europe, but it was difficult to do while still giving the keeps enough room for AI opponents to build their castles. I got the idea after playing Medievil Total War.
Balance Point: 5 Players: Unbalanced: A large + shaped mountain ridge devides the map into four sections. There is a keep in each section and in the middle of the plus. To get from section to section the troops must crosst the middle of the map and the keep there. The player in the middle therefore has to fend off all four other players at once, and therefore the middle player has the advantage of height and easy access to resources, but gets no farmland near by.
Cross Roads: 4 Players: Balanced: Using the same + shaped mountain ridge that divides the map into sections from Balance Point, Cross Road plays very differently. All four players keeps are close together in the center of the map, but the mountain ridge devides them. To get from one keep to another, troops must follow the mountain ridge form the edge of the map to the center and then back to the edge before they can attack opposing castles. So whoever controls the center of the mountain ridge will not only control the travel on the map, but will be able to shoot missles into any other castle. Making this more complicated is that ther is a larege number of lions gaurding the mountain ridge at the beginning of the map.
I can only say so much for this download, because I have only tried Crossroads. I feel it would not be fair to review this download uniquely on the fun i had on one of the three maps. But this is what I had to say for Crossroads:
I played this map with 2 of my friends, and one Sultan. We had lots of fun playing it. I liked the concept, enough grass and ressources to build up my economy, and its was all-around a fun map to play, and you can bet on it that Ill play it again!
But one thing bugs me from my experience, that I wouldn't elaborate if I was reviewing - There are alot of lions on this map! 30 seconds in the game, and all the lions decide which lord to attack, and after all the lions went up the keeps and were killed by our lords, our lord's health was down 1/4th.
Apart from my lion incident, I really liked your map.
