Greetings,
Expand your territory through the ridged, rough terrain as you build your defenses that may be challenged by the invasion feature. Prepare for the worst, or best, with the event feature. (Hit F1 to do either. If you didn't already know, you must have the 1.2 patch.) Whatever you do with this map, make sure you enjoy it!

-added marsh and pitch

This rating is for v.4 of this map!

Mountain Ridge has all of the resources available for play, all within ready access. Nice balance of wolves and bears - enough to make play interesting, but not so many as to overwhelm. The starting goods were about right also... less gold would be ok, so as to give the player something to work towards. And the starting stone probably isn't necessary, given the easy access to the quarry areas. But those are only suggestions - the number and types of starting goods overall were good.
Playability and Balance: 4

The map makes use of several (perhaps all?) terrain types, from beach to the highest mountains. There's a nice waterfall. I liked the little islands within the river and the marshy area - well done! You might use smaller brushes (to help avoid squared-off areas) and try to blend in some of the terrain levels to make them appear more natural.

Minimal instructions and no story: 2

This is a good first map from Greek_Freek, very playable, with lots of room to expand if you want to build a massive castle. I built up a thriving town of very happy peasants. Thanks for a fun map!
