Of late you have come to Fair-Forest. This wood truly does live up to its name. The only unpleasant things in this forest are your neighbors. They will have no tradeing with you save for one thing . . . They will trade for ale with friend or foe!
Find yourself a niche to thrive in and try to get along with your foul-tempered acquaintances.
Fair Forrest,
Alas a map that needs plenty of work. The whole concept of building up a force to attack the suburban enemies is very good one – it’s a shame Fair Forrest never does the idea any justice. In retrospect I also found on my journey that this map is a bit of a no brainer! Ok maybe a slight exaggeration but to highlight just a few problems that seriously dent this map – too much gold is given for gratis, this allows you to buy an invincible army (what’s the fun in that). Secondly the enemies are weaker than a McDonald’s milk shake – I compare the strength of the opposition to the time it took me to buy 25 knights. Thirdly the scenario that’s been scripted doesn’t play out, this is because you finish the map before anything can happen…..Overall Fair Forrest isn’t a very playable experience that offers a very limited story.
Good points? Yes there are some – the map design wasn’t a failure and shows signs of promise. The idea is good and with some tweaks this map could be good – in short this needs a little work and maybe a play test or two.
