It has been a few years since anyone has attempted to take control of this land, mainly due to the fact that of the fast-paced river flow, which has unfortunately taken numerous lives during the years, or its rough, mountain-type terrain.
But now, your Kings has ordered you, with a small handfull of archers and men, to seize control of this river, before anyone else can. It may be tight, so expect some bloody battles to develloppe during this campaign for these lands.
Siege equipement will probably not be able to pass through these rough terrain, so you will have to rely on units on foot, or on horse. You can attempt to hide or ambush your ennemies in crevases, or small hidden dips in the terrain, but keep in mind, that they may also use this against your army.
This is a 2 vs. 3 map, where the team of 3 has a slightly larger amount of space and fertile grass, but not a subtantial amount of stone or iron, than the other team.
Good fun map, I played with an ally against 3 and found that to be well balanced. Resources are well constrained, limited grassland stops you developing too fast. There is plenty of space which is nice, I like Once I got going though and built up my castle I found it a little easy and I strolled to a steady victory. I had some good battles for the ford which were very entertaining.
Creativity and Map Design: 8/10
The map looks good, the resources are carefully down and the central river is creatively done. I thought the central area of high ground around the river could have blended in a bit better with the surrounding countryside. This kind of addition would put the map deisgn mark to a 5. There is plenty of building space which I rather like, my castles are big and cumberosme so this map suited my play perfectly.
Story/Instructions: 4/5
Nice storyline and a well set out site description. Good work!
Additional Comments: Good all round map, really free flowing and well balanced. Recommended!
