On this map you don’t start with a ruined castle that you will have to rebuild. You get attacked at once, while you have only some soldiers.
You should survive the attack, but do it with as little damage to your castle/troops as possible.
You will notice that many buildings are unavailable. Some you have at the start
but you cant replace them if you lose them!!
I have tried to make it a challenge to get the resources required.
You will not have any marketplace advantages…
I have tested it a lot on “normal” and it has been fun. I am not an expert player miself,
but I think(and hope) it will be fun for everybody - from novice to expert….
It is the first map that I post(not the first made:), and I look forward to hear your views.

Playability: Whilst I enjoy the invasion scenario probably more than most, I felt that the map here was okay, but a little dull in places, but only in places. Otherwise it was a well done map and it took me three attempts in all to work out the best way to tackle the game. A few more events would have helped, but then I feel that the map was meant to be a tough one!
Balance: Damned hard I found, but because it is achievable after a bit of practice, I think a 4 is a very good score to give. I felt miserable playing this initially because it was so hard. I lost the market before I had a chance to see if I could sell anything, or even buy anything to assist me. My popularity plummeted a couple of times as well due to fires, no food, you name it! But all in all it was well done, and credit has to be given for the fact that it is a challenge that seems to work.
Creativity: Nice idea, if a little unusual. Reminded me of my childhood when I inadvertently broke something and thought to myself I was in for a rollocking from my mother!! I can imagine a prologue when the Lord returns to the castle to find it in tatters! Made me laugh, anyway, but then my humour is another story...
Map Design: I fel that the map was a little basic and the castle a little crude in construction. The map was very open and largely flat. This is disappointing as a good map would have lifted the overall score considerably.
Story/Instructions: Some effort has been made here to present a story and this is commendable.
Okay, so overall I quite enjoyed it, and it kept my interest going. A good map generally, a few tweaks would have made it better. Have to give credit for the scenario. It may not be pretty, but it plays very well indeed. Any more like this? I'd love to play them!

Playability: Every time I have played this map I have enjoyed it completely. It seemed like there was always some urgent need or goal to be achieved: Killing the assasins, fighting the opening battle, starting the food production, eliminating the wildlife, taking and starting the iron sites, starting other industries, getting ready for and fighting the last battle...Really well done.
Balance: Here ya go. Wonderfully balanced map. It was a real treat to be challenged by this map. It wasn't just that I had to lose/start over several times to finally win, but you have to work hard to find a way to win. It was really a lot of fun managing limited resources and still trying to prepare for what turned out to be a very well balanced final invasion.
Creativity: The timber cutter limitation really made this map. Also not being able to just buy up anything I needed in a market to make up for production shortfall worked extraordinarily well in this scenario. I thought the "island" with the inn was innovative. The fact that you really could not build anything you want anywhere you want really forced some hard decisions. Having the iron surronded in the opposing keep was a good idea, but it wasnt developed enough. You could have had just a few troops there and made the iron collection a requirement for victory. The wild life problem and the need to solve it was also very subtle yet very effective challenge made even more entertaining by the fact that the timber and apple collection was spread over a wide area. By the way the assassins starting in the castle was outstanding. Just their presence and the need to get rid of them limited actions right from the start.
Map design: I thought that the overall look of the map was good. Locations for the resources seemed well thought out and again spread out and therefore very challenging.
Story: I thought that the story and instructions did a good job in setting up the scenario.
If you dont like a challenge then you probably won't like this map. Early on just feeding your people and balancing those precious timber resources can be frustrating if you make mistakes. Then when the bad guys show up it will be over before it begins. However, if you want a challenge and a really close final fight I highly recommend this map
