Ships Log
Sailing Vessel Amanda

Time of Plague and pestilence at Siletz Moorage and subsequent raids:

Jan 1181: The sailing vessel Amanda made landfall at Siletz Moorage today for repairs. Food and provisions to be stored in the hold. 21 souls aboard + marines. Shore leave advisable. Local population absent.

Feb 1181: Food procurement delayed. Temporary granary built on outer dock to receive shipment when it arrives. Crew happy and shore leave encouraged. Still no contact with local persons. Marine Archers to build temporary brig near the granary to house thieves. Food order arrives and is stored in dockside granary. Local traders look weak and sickened when sighted at distance. Shore leave allowed but contact with locals not advised.

March 1181: Men fall sick and serious plague grips ship and docks. Casulaties lowered by evacuation of ship for short periods while plague runs its course. Shore leave is recommended and increased hygene and cleanliness is ordered.

April 1181: Local witch doctors (apothecary) are employed to rid the ship of the plague. Crew disheartened and low spirited. Food ration is increased. Witch doctors cures successful!

July 1181: Ship repairs completed. Preparations to make-way begun. Last of supplies ordered and all crew on shore-leave ordered to assemble. Weather fine and tides good with no swell.

Aug 1181: Inclement weather with wind-waves out of NW at 28-40 feet. Typhoon season begun. No travel by sail until seasons end (unknown). Crew ashore with little to occupy themselves. Ship outfitted with tents to give cover during storm. Moorage good with high tides. All pray for a quick end to the storm...

Nov 1181: Outlying villages have seen Arabian troops heading this way....
