Gave this a 5 because its a enjoyable map. Its fun to play. Its not complicated and doesnt try to simulate a whole working city, just a simple keep and some surrounding land. The attacks come in almost at the start, but dont worry you have some build time. The quarries and fertile land isnt too far away. But I really gave this a 5 because I played it through and really tried to beat it, and I did (first time)!
Took off one (4 is still offically EXCELLENT according to the rating guidelines). Reason for not being a 5: Since the resources are close and plentiful this could lead to 600 assassins being built, which IMHO is Stupid. Also the attacks are a little light, but this seemed ok at the end, where I had to leave the castle and hunt down the assassins in the woods. You have to kill all the enemy on the map.
Took off on this because it looks roughly drawn, with blocky terrain features and sloppy land elevation. But, if you spent another couple of days just working on some real unique landscape and made it all look professional, then the creativity would go up on this.
Map Design: 3.5
Had to take off, because its obvious the water and land elevation were not worked on long enough. There are gaps in the high ground, and you can see the water behind it. I find that a noob mistake, you can do better! Plus there are alot of trees (of all kinds), which does make the map filled out, but in a kind of cheap and fast way. You should have made this maybe 2 map sizes smaller and left out alot of the trees. Less is more in my opinion, and if you read my article on Simple vs. Complex in mapmaking 101 on this site, then you might pick up a few pointers.
Average work. Not really Stephen King quality or anything like that, but enough to describe what happens in a simple way.
The best thing about this map is that if you download it right now, and play it - you will be wrapping it up in about 2 hours with a Victory. If you are good that is. If you are a noob, you might have a hard time with the attacks (merc swordsmen arent too tough). Use archers to keep the high ground firing advantage maximized!

uh... lollard, you've put 3.0 on the story/instruction but on your coments you said that you gave a 3.5

I played and enjoyed this scenario. Good job.
I'm sure you know that every attack is quite easily handled by walling off the narrow choke point just east of the keep, building a few towers overlooking this point, and then using fire throwers and archers to rain excitement down on the attackers. They barely have time to scratch this impediment before meeting Allah.
