The Rocca Malatestiana of Gradara crowns the city and looks fiercely toward the Adriatic sea.
Since the XII century the family Malatesta strengthened
the structure, that was completed of it when Gradara passed under the dominion of Sforza in the XV century.
Besides the beauty of the Rocca, very well preserved in the time and visitable for the whole arc of the year, it is of big suggestion the bond of the castle with the character and the history of Francesca from Rimini, the unlucky lover that was also remembered by Dante Alighieri in "La Divina Commedia".
The castle itself is interesting, but its so well defended that the large invading force doesn't have a chance. Is this supposed to just be a historical recreation?
