Dover-part 1, the camp

Author File Description
Lord Edy
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Easy
This is my vary first use of heavengames, other than downloading. I only just got a heavengames ID tonight, after three failed passwords.
Anyway, enough about me, more about the map (I presume thats what here for...).
This is the first in a capaign in which follows immidiatly after the Millatary and Economic campaigns, baist on you never actually killing Duc de Puce (the Rat), thus, once everything has calmed down a bit, he returns, in (Suprise! Suprise!) Dover.

P.S. Dover is down in Kent, on the south-east coast of England, and is the closest point in the U.K. to France.
This is a VERY, VERY early version of the map and when/if I upload the rest, the pack will contain an up-dated version of this map, will not have the same name, will be in Invasions/Utillaty and may not be finnished untile 2006.

lollard97367 Excellent setting for a map. For everyones information, I moved to a new house. I am waiting for the cable to be turned on, as when that happens I will download and rate this. Its supposed to be Monday.

Playability: 2
A LOT of dead time...had my game speed set to 90 and just sat back and watched...had some fun killing rabbits and bears.

Balance: 1
There is none. It couldn't be easier, place your buildings, and then sit back and watch.

Creativity: 2
Not very creative really...

Map Design: 3
Most of the map was boring, plain grass with very little detail, but a few details (the hill in the SE-corner and the small pools in the woods) brought this up to a 3. Higher detail level, and possibly more heights and streams, needed for a higher score.

Story/Instructions: 3
Short, gives the information required, but not really a masterpiece.

Additional Comments:
A very easy mission where most of the time is spent sitting back and watching. Also there could be a lot more work done to the landscape.
Don't like to be negative while writing reviews, but I think it's better to be honest. Good luck with your next map.

I was ment to be easy, although I did expect a higher mark for creativity and map design.
I'll try and improove on it when/if I release the full trail.
I gess I better start releasing some more maps, QUICKLY. I don't want to end up being thought of as a low-rated auther.
But thanks anyway Jasper

Jasper Tudor As for the Map Design, I rate from what the map looks like, not how it works. Flat and grassy terrain is what you start with while making a map, so more work is needed for a higher score.
Try not to put all the resources in big piles, as it is at the SE-corner of this map, spread them out. Also, try to think how a mountain looks in reality, the mountain to the NW doesn't look very realistic.

Captain Diablo You should always take as much time as you need. Never rush, it's done when it's done. You'll get much better results!

It's been arround 1 1/2 years since I Up-loaded this map, when I said there would be more to come in a pack.
Well, the pack won't come. :(
The screens I was useing with that computer blew up (one flashed on and started smoking, the other started sparking and gave off a worrying smell).
So now that old machine is getting dusty behind my desk, along with the other map designs in the pack.

Timballisto Hm...well, actually you do kill the Rat...I mean, you have his helmet on the table with a candle on top of it after the scenario, and you here him making noises like he's dying, and, well, it's very much implied that you actually do kill the Rat.

Aw, be quiet!

It made for a good story! :p
