Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Hard

You command pesants which were left behind by the crusade. After their loss you set a base in the forest, to cover from muslim warriors. But the peace cannot last forever...

You begin your adventure in the middle of the forest. After few months of peace you thought that muslims have forgotten about you. But you were wrong. They want to kill every christian in their lands. Your only defence are your bows and spears, and the forest around. In addition there`s a sadistic muslim bandit which catches your people and tortures them. There are also lions attacking, but fortunately, not only you, also the one on the other side of the river. People are scared and you have deal with him. If you want to build something, you`ll have to cut down some trees. You command basic people so you`ll have to use basic weapons. The only source of food are deers.

Your mission is to survive the attacks of christian bandits and muslim warriors and to defeat the lord Abdul Hafat at the other side of the river. Good luck!

That`s my first map. It can be unbalanced. If there are any mistakes or you have some advices, tell me and my next map would be better.

Captain Diablo Aye this sounds good! I always enjoy a nice "simpleton" map!

Will rate soon.
lollard97367 This is a stronghold crusader custom scenario (on here: invasion) map. It also has no lord killed lose condition, so if the lord is killed the game continues on with you unable to do anything.
Dpminatr Please post minimap. Downloading.....

When i tested it I didn`t lose my lord. I set that you have to survive all attacks and kill enemy lord. It`s my first map so I could do it wrong.

Well, you could buy bows and spears. Which made raising an army relitivley easy. But if you don't kill the Lord fast, then swarms of bandits and invasions will come, making playability impossible. The lions were killed easily, and there was no Lord killed lose condition.

Balance: 2.5
Ummm, hordes of bandits and stupid Arab Swordsmen that aren't in aggresive stance. It's not very balanced.

I loved the map, it's simple strokes for different folks.

Some parts were a bit boring, I wish your castle looked liked the enemy's castle. The forest looked great, although boring. It fit the scenario perfectly.

Story/Instructions: 3.5
A simple story for a simple map.

Additional Comments: Sorry for the short review, but I'm tired and my backpack was recently stolen.

Go figure. Keep it up!

Aye Lollard, you never did give me your opinion on the map I sent you. Juggernaught- Stand. Did you like it?

I have only Stronghold: Crusader, I can`t play Stronghold maps. You told me you sent it to me. How and where? I didn`t give my email in my profile
Captain Diablo I sent it to Lollard. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
lollard97367 I went back and found Juggernaught-Stand Map. I will take a look.

I am also still playing Forest all around, and will rate it when done.

This is a deceptively fun little scenario. It doesn't look like much to start, but the building restrictions make winning difficult.

Guard your houses and protect them from fire! You can't build replacements, so your maximum population will decrease with every lost house.

The main challenge in this scenario is keeping one's popularity up. And alehouses are critical for this. Building two alehouses and keeping them supplied is a must.

I went nut with huntsmen and loggers, but kept half rations going on-and-off to preserve my food supply. You just can't trust huntsmen to keep a population fed by themselves.

I demo'd loggers once they cleared nearby forest and switched to weapons makers as these produce more income per worker.

Killing pits are the key to defense. I walled each fjord so that the invaders had to pass through a long narrow chute and filled them with killing pits. This seemed like a no-brainer with so much wood to be had. These "grinders" reduced the number of invaders to numbers my archers could manage.

I built one central tower and made sure my valuable buildings were placed near it, then manned the walls with fire braziers and archers.

Balance: 4.5

I thought the invasions were about right, except at the end, where they were easily handled. Only a single knight passed through my grinders.

Having fires and other distractions break out with the invasions made battle management difficult and interesting.

The twists included in this scenario were very cool.

Additional Comments:

Again, a very cool, well-done invasion.
