For ages a distant island has sent the wood from its Pine trees known for their strengh to you fathers kingdom. The shipments have stopped. You begin crashed on the island. You have found that the local Lord has been slain by his first in command who used the local natives that worship the trees to help him and his followers to take over. You need to slay this false Lord, his followers and the misguided natives. You need to aquire enough to build an ship and return home.(See map for full desciption)
NOTE: You have only a small crew so if the peasent homes are destroyed they can not be replaced.
I look forward to any feedback as this is one of my few maps I felt worthy of submitting.

lollard97367 This starts off with normal keep placement followed by the standard granary. Then you can get a wood barracks up, and armory. You cant build a marketplace (I think this severely limits a map), and you dont start with any weapons. Then the archers that are set on aggressive, come across the map and attack you. Since you dont start with any troops, weapons, or trader availability - you have no defense except your king. Its about 40 archers that run over, I even tried it on easy to see if that made a difference. You need to fix the archers that move across the screen. Also the wood goal is 5004. Thats FIVE THOUSAND planks. Thats alot! Thats probably more than the given trees on the map. This map was not playtested.

Thank you for trying my map. I really appreciate your suggestions. The Archers were an oversight on my part I actually added them after I played the map and found that attacking the enemy Stronghold was to easy. When I play it I established hunting posts to dispatch any spearmen that came across. the 5000 wood is actually possible. The trick is not to commit deforestation in the process. As I realized that this is time consuming - not to mention boring I reduced it. The reason I don't have a market place is to symoblize being stranded on an island. I am have made changes (arches and wood goal) and I will re submit. I hope you will re-try it.

Sorry about those archers. I added them after I played it and found it to be too easy to attack the enemy fortess. I have deleted them and changed the wood goal to a lower number. Please re download and try agin. I appreciate your trying my map.

FaramirBeckerson I have re-downloaded it, and I probably have to say that I just must be even weaker Lord in Stronghold than I thought. Crossbowmens are killing my lord. Then archers constantly kill all workers that appear in front of the keep, no matter if I placed motte&bailey in front or not.

I have no idea why the crossbow men were running across. When I play tested that did not happen I have since been forced to delete them as I could not get them to stop. As for the Archers when I played the map I immediately placed about 6 hunter’s post. They were able to take care of the archers. I hope this helps. Thanks for trying my map.

Futzy I had the same problem with Archers and Crossbowmen at the start. Played at normal, it is possible to defeat them - place keep as far, as possible to opposite side of the map from enemy troops to win some time, create some hunters and woodcutters in front of the Keep as "defending line" behind palisades, create 3-4 engineers with shields and place them to the Lord in the keep. Hunters and woodcutters have to hold the enemy troops until first our archers arrive. With this archers and Lord's personal attack to enemy troops, it is possible to beat the initial "invasion" of enemy troops. Then it is necessary to be prepared for twoo fires in a row - the key is to protect civilian houses, everything other is replaceable. I placed 9!!! wells around the houses, but I never succeed to save all 6, and I lost at least 1. And this is everything, what is in this scenario interresting. After this starts long and boring years with minimum events, producing archers and pikemen, easy destroying the enemy castle and troops before first real invasion, and I give up this boring game in the middle (year 1035), with about 400 archers, 350 pikemen, 3000 planks of wood (about 7 years I do not produce any wood), not ready to wait next 7 years for (compare to my troops) weak army and fire, and then about next 20 years for last "weak" invasion. Hard to say, what to make better. Maybe to shrink the game in 30 years with more then 3 invasions, with running countdown for fullfilling the economic goal.
