We’re tired of the oppression. Tired of this endless labour, not knowing if it is moonlight or sunlight that shines far above us. All the light that we have down there is the fire of torches, and the weak glare of our comrades’ eyes. Eyes that witness of too hard work, no sleep and but little food.
Too long have we accepted being commanded. Too long has that Philippe De Puce kept us as slaves. This must come to an end! It is time that we rise, and no longer allow ourselves to be kept slaves. We go no further down, but up! We will not dig for those who do not dare touch us, afraid of getting ill. Afraid of the lice that haunts us, thanks to those filthy barracks we’re forced to sleep in! Up, men! Up, to arms!
The Author's Notes
This map was actually never intended to be released here, at Stronghold Heaven. However, I had a sudden change of mind and thought that I might just as well release this one, since I had so much fun creating it.
This is a small (160x160) cede-scenario invasion, where the only unit available to use is the tunneleers. This mainly because tunneleers are often forgotten or ignored.
This map is completely designed for ME, and is not really a serious attempt to create a great map that will receive great scores from other players (although none of my maps has succeeded with this =P). I don't really feel that I need, or even want, a review of this little map, as it's designed from my own, little odd perhaps, taste. It's kind of like a little Christmas present from me, to me. However, if you REALLY feel that you simply MUST review this map, either because it sucked so bad, or because it was so great, you can of course write a review. Otherwise simple comments and thoughts would do fine.
The map is rated as Easy. If the map will be easy or not depends entirely on how you play it, since there IS a very easy way of completing the map (with 0% troop-losses) I labeled the map as Easy, however, if you try it the hard way it may provide some challange (you'll know what I mean when you've played the map).
Atleast I hope you enjoy the map.
PS. Thanks to Lord Ako, who's map The Meteor Crater gave me a lot in inspiration for this map. DS |

Oh, I forgot: note that some things in this map are entirely there for the look and realism of it. The marketplace for example, you will have no need for it, but you can trade iron (the goods produced up in the mines) and bread and ale, to feed the workers. So it has no real use, it's just there for the look of it. |

Yup, although you can get in other ways too, but it'll cost you a few men.
Too bad that the minimap shows the placement of killing pits... |
