This scenario is a real disappointment. It is far too short, with only one economic goal to meet (wood) and no chance to become involved in the scenario in any way. There are no events in the few minutes it takes to complete and once you have placed a few woodcutters' huts, that's it. The map is reminiscent of the first level of the military campaign that comes shipped with the game. A generous 2/5 is awarded, only because it works.
Balance: 1
As above, with only wood to collect in an area which is heavily forested, there is no challenge to the map, easily winnable and no chance for the player to do anything. The scenario needs some serious work done to it to justify a higher score.
Creativity: 1
Sadly, and despite trying to look upon this map with favourable eyes, there isn't anything creative to report. The map needs basic work done to it to warrant a higher score, such as a theme, a challenge and a gameplay style that involves more than placing a few woodcutters' huts and sitting back waitin for the game to end.
Map Design: 1
A large size brush has been used to create a simple valley, a few trees and a small keep which forms the basis of your settlement. There has been little thought put into the landscape, the raised areas of terrain looking crude and no landscaping techniques. My apologies to the author, but this could really benefit from a lot more effort in the design.
Story/Instructions: 2
There is a small introduction to the map, albeit a few lines, and that is all. The story and instructions side to a scenario is your chance to promote the map, to sell it to the potential downloader, to capture their interest and whet their appetite for what is to come. I cannot award anything higher than 2/5, which is given for at least some content to read.
