The Mountain Pass (Updated)

Author File Description
Lord Karpathea
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Normal
Minimap:
Soon after their initial defeat at the battle at Amon Draal, the Nagai returned in greater strength, crushing Rolan's defenses. Rolan had no choice but to pull out. He and his men headed for the capital city of Florin but were cut off by the Nagai's main army.

Rolan was now left with one choice. There was an ancient mountain pass that led to the southern lands of Florin, but it required going through the roots of the Mountains of Shadow. Pursued by the Nagai, Rolan and his men made a run for it.

They managed to make it to the entrance of the pass, but soon learned it was not as abandoned as they had hoped. In order to escape back to the safer Southern Province, the Men of Florin would have to breach the Nagai's defenses and reach the lands beyond...............

This is the second installment of the little series I've been working on. You will have to take your men and break through the Nagai's defenses. Your only objective is to reach the keep at the far end of the pass and kill the enemy lord to "escape". This won't be easy to do. There are many ways to get there, but not all of them are ways you should go. Well, let me know what you all think. Good or bad, I want to know. Hope you enjoy my map.

*Updated - Inhanced terrain
- New sub-army of Nagai on map
- Possible to lose, a giant invasion
of the Nagai comes after 25 years.

Playability: 3
It was fun, though poor map design sort of piqued my interest instead.

Balance: 4
The balance was good, it seemed impossible but with the concealing of that secret passage revealed, it wasn't that hard, nor too easy.

Creativity: 3
Quite a creative map, though you gotta focus a bit more on the map design. Maybe DL a couple of very good maps and see how it's done.

Map Design: 2
This was poor. The hills and the so-called "Mountain Pass" looked very unreal. You need to tighten things up here.

Story/Instructions: 3
The story wasn't too bad, short to the point, and not one of those 4-page long boring stories.

Additional Comments:
A quite fun map overall, but poor map design brought the score down a lot.
