King Bret Popo Got a mini map?

...and by any chance are you from Rockford?
File Author
No,im not. And i couldnt because the program wouldnt work with my computer.
King Bret Popo Ah just wondering, there is a Rock River in Rockford, Illinois... I put two and two together.
King Bret Popo Playability: 5
Its playable nothing wrong with it, no problems that I saw... played against three Caliphs

Balance: 4
A bit to much Iron for my taste.. it makes it to easy to accumulate gold

Creativity: 3
To tell you the truth, it's been done... but what hasnt anymore. Anyway, good job.

Map Design: 4
Good.. maybe a little varity with land heights but good

Story/Instructions: 5
You said something, so in my book you get a five... plus this is a skrimish, its way to hard to think of stories for a skrimish

Additional Comments: Good job, I played a few times, first three rats against me then three Caliphs and then one all on all with three wolves. I was entertained, which is important because I have played maps and quit them within 3 minutes because they sucked.

I updated so it had oil now and less supplies so its challenging but still possible
lollard97367 Playability: 4
Rock River(updated) is indeed a skirmish map for 4 comps or human players in multiplayer. Simple to understand and play, a river with square stone formations divides a desert land. On each side are two kings. The river isnt a much of a barrier. Comps dont jam up on this map. A nice map to run a 2 v 2 on gamespy, but with the out of balance resources this could be a problem. Most players I know want a exact balance so the battlefield is equal.

Balance: 3
I have a prob with big globs of iron and stone spaced around the map with no natural feel or basis. Put in some time detailing the stone and iron placements so it doesnt look like you used the medium sized landscape tool editor all over the place.

Creativity: 3
The river is simple with the large boulders placed in unnatural looking squares. Take a look at other pictures of rivers and how they flow. The banks of rivers usually have more vegetation and varied stones.

Map Design: 3
More would be nice. As is its a functional map for multiplayer play. Not too big, so you wont get the huge lag that comes with 4 players building up for 20 minute peacetimes.

Story/Instructions: 2
Your masterpiece (or dumpsterpiece) gets its own entire webpage. Use it with pictures, minimaps, stories (can be made up) and other new and creative write ups. Some ideas I had were:

Map Description in the form of a written play, including characters and script.

Map Description is a transcript or actual except of a journal written by a peasant working on the map (in their own words and slang).

Map Description is a log of events that lead up to the river being formed, discovered, settled, fought over, and now currently disputed by the four king placements.

If you need ideas, just read any old medieval material. Injustice, honor, family intrigue, love interest, and other standard drama themes can be used. Make your map stand out for years!

Thumbs Up, for the raw multiplayer function.

Additional Comments:
Ill play this map on gamespy with anyone who leaves their nickname and time that they will be on.

King Bret Popo Lollard???

Are you the same Lollard that is part of SHI???

If so...

Where have you been at? Hows the map coming, if it is at all? I sent you a few E-mails about what was happening, have you been able to log on to SHI or your E-mail?
... trying not to be annoying, but just would like to know whats happening.

lolllard id like to correct u river of deciet is my sister map rock river is mine,my sister doesnt have and account i do.and i dont kno y u called my map a dumpsterpiece if you gave it and average grade.Thank you for your review.Did you review team border patrol cause i would like to know out of king bret somethin and me who is the inferior and superior.
lollard97367 I used the words masterpiece and dumpsterpiece in the rating of your map. I was speaking on the effort people should put into their write ups. Not every map is a masterpiece, and even good maps get low ratings. But new authors should focus on the look of the map description page, and put work into the online story and/or write up. First impressions are important. If new authors want people to download their "masterpieces" or "dumpsterpieces", they should work hard and edit the written content (with word processor spell checks) of their maps. Two full pages with pictures is the last criteria I heard you needed to get a 5 on story. I liked your map, and played it on gamespy after I submitted the rating. I am looking forward to playing more!
